Let's just agree that we all don't agree on this topic.

In my case the subject line seems obvious that it is about deleting Photostream photos "in" the stream as opposed to all of "the" stream. As I said before this thread was the first hit when googling how to remove photos from the stream. Even googling "how to selectively delete photostream photos" returns this thread as the first hit.

Furthermore the OP's objective has either been met or he no longer cares to post about it. Surely even a few days ago was too late to help him. So to rally on just that one post, ignoring the thread's title and how others really DO want to ad hoc delete from the cloud, seems strange to some of us as it is not really a solution.

But OTOH no one is going to change anyone's opinion on this so let's just agree to disagree. :)

I think we can all agree PhotoStream does need a way to selectively delete photos from the stream.

Wow, some people on here are getting a little too serious about Photo Stream. LOL!

For those who actually read the entire thread, we all know that:

1. The only way to easily remove photos from Photo Stream is to wipe out the ENTIRE photo album.

2. There are ways you can remove few photos from Photo Stream, but it will take gazillion steps to do (so it is possible, however, just doesn't make sense to spend that much time on deleting few photos)

It's just that simple!

As for asking about syncing video clips, do you not get the definition of PHOTO stream? lol.

I guess I assumed, since the files were created with the "camera" and not "video camera" lol. And what the hecks the dif to the system anyway. I use eye-fi cards and they send photos and videos. (data is data) lol.

I do like hte icloud and is they're not wasting space on my ios device, I don't care if I can delete them. (well - other than I get 5gb storage? at some point I might have more photos than that - what happens then? (new pics not saved, or oldest pics deleted sooner than 30 days? The later would be logical and ideal.

You can tap the button in the too right (with arrow coming out of box) and select multiple and the hit delete. No going to them 1 at a time

thanks - I've been doing that, but it's still selecting one at a time. To page down through 100+ photos is extremely tedius. I'd be happy with a "delete all" button.

Speaking of which - I also hate that after a few days of using the ipad, I get pretty much every app I own appearing in the multi-tasking bar. Again - holding one - and then hitting the - removes/shuts down each but really? I have to tap on each of the 50-80 apps that are in the muti-tasking bar? Are they using any resources being there? not a "close all apps" button?

No delete all photos button? I thought Apple devices were suppose to be easy? I guess easy is different from efficent... ok... I give.

This doesn't work. I have loads of pictures in camera roll on iPad. None were uploaded after turning photostream off/resetting/on.

Not so smart it seems....

What I've said from the beginning is there's no way of deleting photos one by one from the photo stream, but that restoring photo stream and re-adding the photos gives you the same end result.

It's not a question of opinions, it's just how it is. So I don't really see how anyone could disagree ;)

I disagree. In MY opinion that is absurd.

Sure seems like a dumb way on apple's part to handle this feature. How about if you delete it out of a stream on any device, it deletes it off all devices? Seems like a simple solution.

No big deal to reset. Just drag and drop what you want into another folder on your main device and reset it.

Just don't take risqué photos with photo stream enabled. Same thing happens when I put the SD card into my macbook. It goes into that copy of iPhoto and then automatically adds to my photo stream. That's an option you can turn off in iPhoto but I love it that I can add to one mac and all my devices get the photos.

That is definitely the only reason one might want individual photos deleted though.

Half of the "photos" in my Photo Stream are iPhone screen shots (most of them because I am a developer). I would like to just delete them or prevent them from appearing in the stream at all.

I guess we should be grateful that Photo Stream is not auto-updating Facebook. :)

I figured it out - hope this helps!

Hi,

I've set up iCloud on my mac and iPhone and I turned on Photostream, which is an awesome thing to have. Every picture I take with my iPhone gets streamed to the cloud and to my iMac. But here's the annoying thing: EVERY picture I take with my iPhone gets streamed to the cloud. Now I have way too much photos of me in embarrassing situations and positions and I can't find a way to delete them. They all appear on my iMac and in the cloud. To be honest, that's not exactly what I want. So does anyone have an idea how to delete these photos? (I know they will be deletend in 30 days, but I want them deleted now.)[/QUOTE

Hi kristoffers4,
I had the same problem and it was making me mad. So...I moved all the pictures I wanted to save into a new album. Then..all I did was turn off my photo stream and the pictures were all deleted. But I didn't lose the ones I wanted because I saved them to a different album. I did this on my iPad and my iPhone. It works fine.

Is there a language barrier here, am I not making myself clear? What aren't you agreeing with?

a) there is no way of deleting photos "on the go" from your photo stream
b) by resetting your photo stream and manually adding those photos you wanted to keep there, you reach the same end result

There is nothing to disagree with here, these are facts. But it's definitely absurd that that's the way it is.

"iPhone Explorer" is now "iExplorer".

"iPhone Explorer" is now "iExplorer". Please note that you cannot selectively delete photos from Photo Stream with iExplorer or any other application, since Photo Stream pictures reside on the iCloud server, not on any of your devices.

Adding photos to photostream

Instead of deleting photos from photostream, you can manage which photos get added to your photostream by using a camera app other than the iPhone's native camera app. If you take pictures with that app and don't have the photos saved to the camera roll by default in the app, then you can select which photos get added to your photostream by only saving select photos to the iPhone's camera roll.

How to delete the photo streams feature

Photos that are stuck in the photo streams feature are all duplicate. To make this feature disappear or say, to "deactivate": 1) go to "Setting" icon 2) scroll down & select "Photos" option 3) turn "off" Photo Stream 4) after that your iph will warn you that all pics will be deleted. Don't worry!, as long as at the bottom of this same screen you keep the "Keep Normal photo" ON, then it's okay. Viola, the photo streams will disappear immediately when you go to photos again. I have done mine and it works. Hope it helps to you all.

How to delete photos from Photostream

First, turn off Photostream on all your devices.
Second - go to http://icloud.com, sign in, click your name at the top, go to "advanced," and you'll see the option to "reset Photostream." That's it, right there. Reset it, and then use with caution...

I am not sure but I think if you login to iCloud.com and then click on your name in the upper right corner you get an option to reset photostream if you then click advanced.

Can anyone confirm this?

Photo Stream picture delete

HI!

I've been looking up on this and found a fix for this right on the iCloud website.

once you log into the site, click your name on the top right corner. A new popup window should appear showing you your picture, and three tabs reading time zone, language, and advanced. Click the advanced button, and the only option tat should show up is a "reset photo stream" button. This will wipe out all the photos that share with all of your devices without deleting the saved files you have on them. take out the pictures you don't want to be shared, restart the Photo Stream, and voila!:)

hope this helps!

Omg you don't have to close apps on the iPad.
