I have a MBP m1Pro, expected delivery April 14-21... still haven't moved from Processing.

My friend had an M1Max on order, expected delivery was April 12-19, and just today he got a "changed to May12...."... one month delay, days before expecting his MacBook.

Curious, anyone know if this is just a Max chip issue, since they are using them in the Studios and prioritizing those? Or is it a general chip delay... I realllllly don't wanna get a delivery delay notice any day now.

Anyone get their M1Pro in time in the last few days / weeks?

Same thing just happened to me. I had a custom M1 Max order that I placed on February 10th.

Original shipping window was April 6-19, so I was psyched to finally get it …

… then yesterday, April 8th, I got an email with a new window of May 4-11.

I reached out to Apple Support, where a very friendly rep told me “this is a general situation that we are having with customized Macs.” He even said he has a personal order for a 14” MBP that also just got delayed.

Explanation was a bit vague: “your order was delayed due to some problems, this is a fully customized product and comes from overseas, we had trouble and we'd love to make something else for you but it is not possible.”

Sounds like general pandemic supply chain issues to me.

The rep did effusively assure me that the new shipping window was solid. Not sure how they can guarantee that, but he seemed confident.

Anyway, nothing to do but wait …

I will tell you something, there is a global componenet crisis. Not even electronics but other comodities too. I work for one of the biggest company producing power supplies. Prices of components are insane, if you dont want to stop production lines, you have to pay in extreme cases like 80x original price…and thats if you are lucky and found the component on open market…some components have delivery times of 52weeks…

And all the rest too....
Mac Studio's (UK orders) are now 4 weeks for a 'base' max, and 7-9 weeks for a 'base' ultra, without customisation.

Got bumped from April 13-20 to mid to late May. Ordered Feb 24th.

It might not be solely supply issues, but could also be labor shortages from Covid lockdowns in China.

It's not too surprising since I just ordered a Apple Studio Display with VESA mount and it won't come until the end of May-early June. It's because of the China's Zero Covid policy which is causing those delays. You just have to wait as this is the new reality, until they give up on that strategy.

Anyone with a M1Pro chip getting delayed too, or just the max? Damn I’m worried now.

I ordered on February 12th, originally promised March 31st-April 13th, moved to April 13th, and now my window is May 9th-16th. The crazy thing is I have all the accessories that I have ordered since February minus an extra charging brick. At this rate, I might get my Studio Monitor before the computer. They have said the same line to me about components shortage-which I get, but if they are shipping out other models and the Studio I don't understand fully what the hold-up is. I agree it could be covid related, but I was hoping my MBP was going to be built stateside. They could do better on the customer relations side of this, but they are the ones holding the purse strings and we are paying for the brand. I won't go back to Windows or otherwise, because we are paying for the quality and experience with Mac, and thus, in that regard, Apple does not have a competitor.

What a different world we live in now. Apple usually beats delivery dates. My studio display is due the April 7th-14th and remains in "Processing". Wonder what will happen to my Studio Ultra order due May 4-11. Both ordered on pre-order day.

This is all very discouraging since I ordered mine March 24 and was hoping to have it in early May - that sounds impossible now given that people who ordered me are now hearing late May.

I ordered a BTO M1 iMac on 4/1, and have a delivery day of April 29 - May 6. I hope mine doesn't get delayed.

I get the whole pandemic thing is still causing issues, but what makes me wonder, are people still buying up everything in site? That was another one of the reasons for the shortages. Being stuck at home for 2 years, people are buying up everything, from computers to a new toaster. Everything has electronic components these days.

You would think people have all they need by now and demand would be cooling down for stuff, but it doesn't look like it.

It's high demand coupled with production interruptions due to covid shutdowns, which are still happening.

Ya I get that. But that just reaffirms what I was saying, that people are still buying everything they can, which is still is making demand so high.

What I was wondering is that why demand for stuff hasn't calmed down yet. I don't just mean for electronics, but everything as a whole. It's like people just decided that they want all sorts of things now that they really didn't bother with before the pandemic.

One theory is that they have more disposable income from taking fewer vacations and spending less on entertainment like eating at restaurant, concerts, etc…

Also, wages in the US have been rising as employers compete for workers in several fields.

For what it's worth on my recent order:

- Jan 21: Ordered 16" M1 Max -- Shipping window was originally the first week of March.
- Feb 22: Shipping window slipped to March 25-April 8.
- Apr 5: Finally moved out of Processing.
- Apr 7: Received.

76 days total, with about 4 weeks added to the original estimate.

Out of curiosity, if you recall- when were you actually charged for the purchase?

My card was charged when the status moved out of Processing, give or take a few hours, the same day.

EDIT: Also, when I placed the order, there was a "pending" transaction (for the full amount) that was charged to my card. It never cleared, since the order didn't ship quickly, and the transaction disappeared after about 10 days or so. Not sure if that's due to my credit card company, or the ordering system, though.

Interesting. Yea that was the reason I was asking. I'm still in processing (with estimated delivery window starting next week) I was charged several days ago. Thanks for the reply.

I'm seeing this with other electronics as well; not just stuff from Apple. The lockdown situation in various Chinese cities is draconian. I have projected delivery dates - they are just moved out. These COVID things typically last up to six weeks so stuff will get here eventually.
