Diablo III for Mac

Yea I know believe it or not it comes out March 2, 2012. I really am pumped for it to come out!!!

Where have you received this information? Blizzard is yet to release a date, anything online is pure speculation. For example amazon says it comes out the end of March but no one has a date.

The Blizzard website says the release date is not yet fixed, so any dates at present are still pure speculation.

I wouldn't het my hopes high, but found this:

Blizzard has narrowed down the release window for keenly anticipated action RPG sequel Diablo 3 to the second quarter of 2012 - so some time between 1st April and 30th June.

CEO Mike Morhaime announced the news during an investor call earlier today.
"We can also confirm that we are targeting a Q2 launch for Diablo 3. We expect to announce more details about the release schedule in the coming weeks he said," he said.

Elsewhere during the call, Activision-Blizzard CFO Thomas Tippl confirmed that "at least" two Blizzard games will launch this year, though didn't specify what the other one might be.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm and Blizzard DOTA are among the other titles it currently has in development.

I don't know where you got that date from but as of now there is no confirmed release date. Blizzard hasn't announced anything so any dates are pure speculation and rumour.

Yep. That's everywhere now. It's official (TM) now. April-June. Exciting. Either that or another delay until the holiday season. The game will get released this year. I don't get the people whining about 'delays'. Blizzard was overly ambitious (for their uber-conservative selves) saying there was any chance of a Q4 2011 launch.

Hope it's more around June. That's when I anticipate getting a new computer.

Almost every Blizzard game has been Mac compatable. Diablo 2 was the first one to use hybrid discs (Mac/Windows) though. Before that they had separate versions for Mac and Windows.

Diablo 3 is a funny thing though. Blizzard it seems are doing everything in their power to make people not purchase the game. Multiple delays. Multiple unwarranted forum bans to people, avoidance to answer any serious question, mocking those who do not have beta access etc etc. But still after all that major disrespect to their customers people still want to purchase the game.

Myself included here. I have been treated pretty shabbily by Blizzard of recent. But even I still want to buy the game. I don't know why this is though.

Personally I'm looking forward to Torchlight 2. That games seems to be shaping up to be totally awesome in any way. Hopefully they release the Mac-version ASAP after the games is launched (And no Cider-port please)

I've read somewhere that the Mac version will be released 6 months after the PC version (I'll have to look for that URL, mind you...)

I agree about that with Blizzard. Grrr to them.

I'll probably get Torchlight 2 as well. No simultaneous Mac/Windows release is pretty sad. But it is better then the developers who refuse to believe OS X even exists. So it could be worse.

I refuse to purchase Windows only games. Not because I'm anti-bootcamp. But I think I will refuse to support developers who din't support both Major OS's. I'm putting my money with developers who support both.

Finally, I have been waiting for years for this! I will probably do both Mac and PC. Sometimes the PC edition works a little better at full bore.

Blizzard has made awesome games and I am more than excited for this game but I am ok with waiting because I know they will make it well worth it.

it has to be april-june because a while back a blue post mentioned blizz will release 2 games/expansions per year for the next three years starting in 2012... this was probably around blizzcon.

so if they fail to release by june, they'll be stuck releasing mists of panda and diablo 3 which will mix sales and give less cash to blizz.

they sort of need to make it by june otherwise they ****ed up big time

Diablo 2 was actually released 30th June 2000.

So looking at this history of Blizzard do I believe their supposed Q2 2012 for Diablo 3? No way. They'll find some way to delay it over and over.

It is so amusing to see how impatient gamers are especially with releases. Nobody is obliged to release anything, yet gamers get angry as if they believe buying their games means they are entitled to demand everything like a clause in a contract.

As far as they make it good, even 2014 is good enough for me.

And game developers expect us gamers to shutup and buy their crap without questioning it. We want quality for our hard earnt dollars spent. Or we take our business elsewhere. That simple.

It works both ways. The customer should not have unrealistic expectations. But the game developers should earn their profits. By releasing decent games and having decent customer support.

My point was that just because you have bought their previous product it doesn't mean you have absolute right to demand them release something when they aren't comfortable with it. Just like how lots of gamers think developers are lazy or aren't hard working if something gets delayed.

Blizzard isn't denying we want quality, that's why they are holding off so much. They will release it when its completely ready.

Also, for those of you wishing for the beta for early access. It's nice but you can only do one act so it gets stale fast. Just so you know.

So you haven't spent any money on an unreleased game (unless you pre-ordered and that's your choice. And mine heh). Delaying the game to ensure the product is of high quality and has adequate support should be acceptable then.

Yes it was good. I will grant it that. I'm one of those old folks who was around for Diablo 1 and before.
But I did really want to play Warcraft 3. And I bought it and the expansion. I do regret doing so. One of the worst games I ever played. But the 2 Diablo dames so far have been good.

So you haven't spent any money on an unreleased game (unless you pre-ordered and that's your choice. And mine heh). Delaying the game to ensure the product is of high quality and has adequate support should be acceptable then.

I do have Diablo 3 on pre order. I don't know why though. Blizzard is doing everything to try to get me to cancel my pre order. Unwarranted forum bans, lots of delays, avoiding to answer any of our questions etc etc. I still want to play the game.

It does. I'm not a Blizzard fan, just a fan of D1/D2 and WC3 (mostly for online play). Haven't really played any of their other titles. It is annoying to have to wait on D3 for so long, but it'll be worth it (I hope hehe).

I need to upgrade my computer to run it anyway... so this is just offering me more time to do so. Hooray
