Lync seems to be working now.

Just an update...I am not sure what happened but Lync is working for me now. I had been using communicator for a while and then using lync in parallels but this morning for some odd reason it works. Granted I did get the latest update from apple, but I assumed that was just for the bash issue.

Anyway, give it a go folks...I am actually on a conf call via lync as I type this.

List of Lync Issues for me:

- Can't exit the app without force killing it
- Inbound calls continue to ring long after accepting. Have to click the red cancel button (the call remains, it doesn't hang up at least)
- Can't see desktop shares
- Can't go into preferences without it crashing
- Some people are saying they don't see my presence information
- Presence following Exchange calendar info is hit or miss
- Appear muted on my end but everyone says I'm not

Those are just a few. No word from MS on a fix, even after the actual Yosemite launch.

I hear Lync vNext isn't coming out until 2016 either. We are stuck with this turd for at least a few more years.

Ok, it works but a few problems.

While on that conference call I tried to speak and well ...nothing. No one could hear me. I double checked the mute icon, it wasn't on either. But for most things I need to do its working fine. Will see what happens when Yosemite is officially released.

I can confirm Lync works fine with IM only, when it comes to meetings it stops working

Or Apple to fix their OS.

Nothing's really solid either way before you MS bash.

MS Office 2011 is the only set of applications that gives me problems on OS X. It had problems previous to Yosemite and will probably continue to have problems.

I'm hoping that Office 2015/2016 for Mac (assuming there is one) more closely resembles the OneNote app, which runs much more nicely.

And the fact that as the builds roll newer Lync starts working for more and more people says the problems ISN'T Microsoft.

It's a Beta OS. Expecting third parties to fix stuff while it's still beta is sheer asshattery anyway.

True, but since Office is already twitchy enough on Mavericks I'm not surprised it has issues on Yosemite. Hopefully once Yosemite goes gold MS will update whatever is still broken on their end.

I can bet this is latest GM before 16th and same build as final

OSX 10.10 is running fine for me, very little crashes, very few app crashes, which is the App developer responsibility in most cases to fix. Inc Lync.

How silly of me to think that anything was ever Apples problem.

It has been for me. I have had a few calls today in fact and haven't had to fire up my VM to use Lync.

Indeed works fine, yet one small glitch found. When on a group call with someone sharing desktop its impossible to full screen - it pops for a sec then goes back to window

there was Office update today yet no Lync update

I assume that when you update iOS and your apps don't work, thats apples fault also?

There are imo very few occasions where apple causes third party apps to break, and if they do, yes Apple should fix and they do, for me, it is lazy app developers who don't work through the betas, testing there apps and updating accordingly - and then when the software is released, they turn round and say, we are working on a fix?

When Microsoft went to Windows 8, there were lots of apps that no longer worked, did anyone turn round to Microsoft and say - you have to fix that, no they didn't - why? because they don't have to.

Like Cisco and Juniper VPN clients when Mavericks was released that didn't work until Apple released a patch. Oh, silly me, there I go again.

Or Using your IOS example how many patches did Apple push getting things not to be broken again?

Native Cisco client works like a charm (Cisco Any Connect)

Just upgraded to Yosemite and Lync is now officially broken. After startup, I click on sign-in, it appears to sign in as my contacts list appears, then it immediately kicks me back out to the signin screen.

Disappointing. : (
