My goodness the iPhone really lags. The scrolling speed is just so horribly slow.

It's not lag damnit. It's DESIGNED THAT WAY, IT IS NOT LAG

----------

To me if you lag behind someone then you are slow. The notoriously lagging iphone scroll speed degrades usability a lot more compared to the micro stutters in Android.

Again it is not lag, it is designed that way to be MORE FLUID!

----------

I've been saying this. Apple has truly released a dud of a phone this iteration.

Your username is rather fitting for your......interesting post.

iPhone user: My iPhone doesn't lag

Android user: Yes it does

Repeat ad infinitum. As it has been and always shall be.....

Yawn.

Exactly. Androids lag 1 millionth of a second more than iPhones. Save all that time up over a month and you have just about enough time to write a pointless post on here about it :)

I agree. However, it's funny how both camps are playing tennis with this point. You know the animations on the Galaxy are DESIGNED the way they are too yet iPhone peeps say Galaxy phones lag.

The great news is on Androids that "lag" caused by animations can be turned off.

Well then, ios is thus designed to incorporate tortoise-like performance - slowly and smoothly does it :)

Picked up the iPhone 6 in silver, 64gb this morning.

Impressions soon. S5 is at the house taking a break.

:) Be interesting to see which you end up using as your daily driver. I keep my Lumia and Nexus 5 updated and ready, because some things like getting my TV shows and movies into the iPhone from my server is still a PIA. I still abhor iTunes. After all this time, it still sucks.

Saw same issue with lag/stutter with ATT Store Demo while S5/Note 3 were very smooth. I hope this an update fix, or only on a few phones, as I really like the phone. My current Galaxy S4 had same issue but updates and certain roms I flash on XDA eliminated most of it. Not new to Apple, have an iMac and son and daughter-in-law are 20 plus year Apple users and avid iPhone owners. I wanted the phone to use IM with my son as he prefers only iPhone IM and was under impression phone did run smooth and had good audio call quality. If I can see a demo that has these qualities, will buy the phone (not demo)--:)

Screen is fantastic and I am use to big phones and need them for my aging eyes--

Happy to join your Forum--:)

We then compared the camera and the gs5 simply took a better picture and was a lot more clearer in detail then both iphones.

All the rest of my family have iPhones, and they always ask me to take important pictures with my S5. There def is a difference.

Are you on a Mac? Come Yosemite, you can AirDrop those files to your iPhone.....

At this point, they end up in the Photos app, but they work the same way.

I suppose that would both someone who is OCD but.....lol

Which iPhones? From the various reviews and comparisons I've seen, the 5S and newer take great photos - right on par with the GS5 (and even better in low light).

My wife uses the Mac and I use a Win8 pc. Air Drop may solve the issue of having to plug in and move filed from my pc to phone. Like custom notification tones and ring tones. That was extremely stupid. It is 2014 and I can't dl or make custom ring tones on my phone? I have to use iTunes? Ridiculous.

Deterrent so you'll buy what's on the iTunes store....

I don't agree with it.....but this isn't tech driven. Purely money - they offer ringtones for purchase, why bother allowing custom versions to be made for free?

I feel this way about file access on my IP6. I can access files on my GS5 on my iMac and on my Win8 machine. So why can't i access the storage on my IP6 like that? Makes no sense to me....

Exactly my thoughts. However, I have figured out the workarounds via iTunes to transfer any m4r, avi and mp4 file over from PC to phone. It is a multi step process and not what I would call intuitive, but at least it works.
What is pretty dumb is having to convert standard mp3 files into m4r files. Another step that shouldn't need to exist.

I have a new word for it, Bulsh$&. That's for "lag" on either iOS or Android.

The problem is everyone defends whichever platform they're using and gets defensive when someone accuses their beloved phone of lagging. Having used an S3 for 2 years I know for a fact Android lags, often in unpredictable ways. I've demoed the Note 3 and S5 in the store I can notice the lag in a 5 minute demo. The M8 is definitely better and I'm sure the new Moto X is very smooth. My new iPhone 6 Plus is definitely much more consistently smooth experience than any Samsung phone. While I would like the best of both platforms I'll take slower scrolling to get rid of those unpredictable laggy moments in Touchwiz. And the first thing you should turn off in iOS is the transitions.

Maybe the definition of lag is the issue here. My Note 3 honestly never lags, the only issue I ever have had with Android the past year is the dialer app. The very first time it's opened it lags a couple of seconds, and also when hitting the tabs they also lag but that's only the first time I open them, unless I reboot my phone I don't see that lag again. Other than that I've not seen any lag, unless we are talking about those literally milliseconds that can be seen on some apps in some of the shared videos I've seen, but it's such tiny minutiae I just cannot fathom how it could matter.
