nope, i love the screen. Had the 1st gen 12.9 for almost 5 years without screen protection with minor scratches that doesn’t bother me. There is some form of satisfaction and enjoyment. Paid a premium price for a device, must enjoyed as is

then, it boils down to use case and preference.

the choice No - I live dangerously should be change to just “No”

So I have never but a screen protector on any iPad I have owned ( and I have owned a lot ) but this time round I have. I even have AppleCare+ but just feel the investment on a 12.9 iPad Pro merits being cautious.

I’ve got the JETech glass film protector and so far it works really well.

I put one on. My 3rd gen pro had multiple hairline scratches that bothered the hell out of me, so the new one I wasnt going to take the risk. eeeeeeeeee

No screen protector. I have AppleCare. Never had any issues going without a screen protector.

I’m using the iPad Pro only for drawing and photo editing. No screen protector. It’s a professional device and not for entertainment. No scratches on the 12.9" 2018 & 2020 so far.

No. I think I’d probably like one for writing, but I don’t like the idea of giving up screen sharpness. I haven’t bought AppleCare yet, but I will.

Likewise, no protector for past 5+ years, but do have silicon case.
But iPad doesn't leave the house.

Don't have one on my iPad 2 either (which used to travel internationally with me).

Team no screen protector.
I wish I could but this is my first iPad and after nearly smashing my iPhone 12 Pro the other day I had to cave in. I'm not used to holding an iPad so I cannot trust myself not to have an accident. Or someone else not to have an accident.

It's too expensive of a screen and far too new for me to get be so brave with it. Apple Care is something I'm considering but have found I've never actually had to use it (which I know should be a good thing but it feels like a waste of money). SIGH.

Ive never gotten apple care plus for my iPads, since they don't leave the house, only time I'd recommend apple care plus for a iPad, is if it's being used outside of your house.

No freaking doubt!!

Mine will absolutely be leaving the house. I travel everywhere with my laptop…. So yeah, may need to shell out for AC though I’ve already installed the ESR Screen Protector. I couldn’t bring myself to use the Apple Pencil without it (comfortably anway) I used a magnet screen protetcor from Stary first but I wasn’t a fan.

Again, I’m extremely NEW to iPad so I don’t have years of experience under my belt. Heh.

What if you are still within the time period to add it and you damage your device?
You can’t add Apple Care to an already damaged device as that would be fraud. They have tests to try and detect damage, but I am sure it doesn’t catch everything. They used to require visual inspection at the Apple Store.

I purchase it from the start though.

No not just yet. Dbrands said my order would ship in mid May (to be fair I ordered on 5/24/21) but I haven't received any new updates. I've checked on the order but it's simply in "Process" and should "ship" soon.

Part of me is now wondering if the skin will mess up the exterior of the board if I ever want to remove it? ?

From Apple site, if not bought with iPad, you need to do a remote diagnostic.
  1. Purchase AppleCare+ with your new iPad.
  2. Or buy it within 60 days of your iPad purchase:
    • On your device (go to Settings > General > About and choose AppleCare+ Coverage Available)
    • Online (requires you to verify your serial number and run a remote diagnostic)
    • At an Apple Store (inspection of iPad and proof of purchase are required)
    • By calling 0800 107 6285 (requires you to run a remote diagnostic and provide proof of purchase)

I'm using a glass screen protector. I've got Apple Care as well, but this doesn't matter for scratches ? I want my device to be as flawless as possible.

By the way I was using a matte paperlike film as well. Don't know who can work long time with that... Don't get me wrong, writing is super convenient, but the film adds some blur to text and on top of that it destroys the tip of the pencil... 2 days with heavy photo processing and I needed a new tip ? Changed to glass and everything's okay now.
