I put one of those Paperlike films on and while I really do like it, especially since it hides finger prints, you really do sacrifice the screen quality. It makes the screen look foggy. I will probably take it off eventually and it will be like a whole new iPad again. I'm using the 12.9in iPad Pro.

I don't live dangerously and have put a case on all my Apple devices, however never a screen protector. I prefer the look and feel of the naked screen.

Anyone have suggestions? I’m considering Jetech tempered glass since it also seems easy to put on. I’m terrible at applying screen protectors

im using the amFilm screen protector. My ipads spends half its life out of the house, in and out of my large lunch bag with work. have apple care as well. Definitely lose some clarity but it’s bright enough of a screen to make up for it

No screen protector for me. I do have device protection through VZW though. Not sure if I’ll ever need it as my older iPads survived my travels.

No screen protector for me. My iPad will leave my home occasionally in my car. I have a good bumper case and a small laptop bag to hold iPad, Logitech keyboard, charger, ssd etc. My 4 years old phone has just 4-5 scratches which are impossible to spot while the screen is on. I am okay with minor scratches but not okay with a screen protector which reduces the sensitivity (for digital art) and clarity of my screen. I don't like screen guards, seat covers etc because they spoil the experience. There are things which should be used as it is. Screens are one of them.

I use the Pencil a lot on my iPad so I use a screen protector to keep away scratches. i had a screen get scratched years ago from drag from the Pencil and have used one ever since. It’s a tough middle ground to get a protector that doesn’t take away clarity too much and one with the paper like feel.

I have the perfect set up for me now. New IPP with Elecom screen protector, white faux leather Dbrands skin, magic keyboard, pencil, Apple folio, tomtoc zippered pouch, nedrelow magic sleeve. At home, I use the iPad with just the skin, pencil and magic keyboard. Both the pouch and magic sleeve used when traveling.

I’m using a matte screen protector for a couple of reasons; I find it a lot better with fingerprints, and its much easier to clean as well. Of course with the pencil it is incredible and particularly useful as an undergraduate student.
Of course the screen does appear slightly fuzzy, but it isn’t much of a concern to me. I find finger prints far more embarrassing. That’s just be of course.

I tried… firsta JETech, then a Zagg. Both made the screen look awful. Realized that I would rather live with scratches than deal with a protector. The screen look SO much better now.

i put on a matte file screen protector. Reduces glare and makes touch/swipe feel more like a paper surface. Like it much better than the bare screen.

No, not on my 2021 12.9. I removed the glass shield from my previous iPad due to reflection issues and I don't care for matte shields. I had used the shield solely for minimizing fingerprints and ease of cleaning and it worked quite well for that.

Nope. I was originally planning on getting a full glass screen protector without the typical cutout/notch for my new iPad Pro so it would be nearly invisible and unnoticeable (like I have for my iPhone), but the reviews weren’t that great. Then I had a closer look at my iPad Air 2 that I used a Smart Cover with, and there is just one tiny scratch that I could barely see. That is great considering I’ve had it for nearly seven years, so I decided a screen protector isn’t really necessary for me. I take care of my devices and ended up getting the Smart Folio for my iPad Pro. It is a bit pricy, but I like that it still keeps the iPad slim and lightweight, especially when traveling.

I’m considering getting the Apple Pencil, and will probably still go without a screen protector. The tip is plastic and softer than the glass, so that itself shouldn’t scratch it as long as the screen is clean. It seems like several reviews haven’t had any issues either, but let me know otherwise.

A good reason to only buy an official Apple Pencil, rather than a cheaper alternative.
I have had my pencil for 5 years, but don't use it excessively, no scratches on a naked screen (Apple will have rigorously tested the pencil on screens before release).

This is my first iPad Pro, following several iPad models through the history of the device. My previous iPad Air was going on three years old, no obvious scratches on the screen. I had a Smart Cover on it and it was always attached and closed when I wasn't using the iPad. For my 11" Pro, I bought a Smart Folio, which achieves the same purpose. I don't plan to put a screen protector on it.

As for AppleCare: I never shelled out for it in the past, because its cost felt too high, measured against the cost of the device. This iPad Pro of mine is 900 bucks, though, so I may break down and get the extra coverage this time.

nope, i love the screen. Had the 1st gen 12.9 for almost 5 years without screen protection with minor scratches that doesn’t bother me. There is some form of satisfaction and enjoyment. Paid a premium price for a device, must enjoyed as is

then, it boils down to use case and preference.

the choice No - I live dangerously should be change to just “No”

i have a question: If we take off the screen protector how it affect oilphobic layer? Is it destroyed?

I had it on my 2018 12.9 and will add it to a new 12.9 arriving today. My wife watches our 1 and 3 year old grandkids at the house during the work week and the iPad is a tempting target that I have to constantly put away!
