DirecTV Now just updated to AT&T TV on my iPhone. As of now, I still have the same channel lineup, even though some of the channels (e.g., Tennis) are not available in the new packages.

Update took place on my phone but not on AppleTV. I did have to reach out to them yesterday because my HBO channels were gone.

It was updated on my TV when I got home from work last night. There was an interstitial page that said my channel lineup would not be changing; I'm kicking myself for not taking a photo of it. Might have come in handy in a few months, when AT&T decides to "streamline" service.

They probably meant no changes as a result of the app changing names. But you're right, they tend to carry the tradition of making promises they don't keep. Hopefully not.

Funny, I cancelled DTVN because of the price hikes, and now I get essentially the same service free with my unlimited plan. Knew I made the right call.

Went to cancel and a chat box opened allowing me to ask for a discount. Doesn't hurt to try and bluff.
