I have a feeling Apple is going to release only one bezel-less ipad this fall. Kinda like how they only released one iphone x last year. It will be the new 10.5” ipad. Without the bezels, it will have an 11” screen. I think the 12.9” will keep it’s bezels but get updated innards. Like Apple did with the iphone 8 plus. Then next year Apple will make all the pro ipads bezel-less. Just a guess.

First of all I would like the iPad 12.9 to get reduced in weight and smaller bezels.
My thoughts is that the 2018 12.9 iPad Pro will have an overall smaller display than the 2017 one due to the navigation bar etc. just like the iPhone X.

My dream size for an iPad Pro is to get a screen size in the exact same format as an A4 paper. Creating document, reading etc. will be in perfect format. The size of an A4 is 14.35 inch I think. A little larger only than the current 12.9 size iPad.

Larger than the display but still within the iPad's physical dimensions.

A4
210mm x 297mm (8.27" x 11.69")

iPad Pro 12.9
220.6mm x 305.7mm (8.69" x 12.04")

That's possible, but I sort of disagree. The iPad market is not the same as the iPhone market. We now know that there were millions and millions of people willing to upgrade to iPhone X because it was a truly new redesign and rethink of the iPhone, and the iPhone is something people are still willing to upgrade every year or two, though those replacement cycles are definitely starting to lengthen. I think the way smartphone plans are now, unless you're really hell bent on OWNING your smartphone eventually, it's silly NOT to just upgrade every year and just keep rolling that lease over. In my eyes, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.

With iPad, people were already keeping these things for 4+ years at a time before upgrading. The models released in the last couple of years or so have spurred more upgrades, but I still feel like it's unlikely that they'll do one new Pro model this year, and then update all the models again in a year's time. They historically have not treated the Pro line that way and I don't think they need to. The iPad upgrade cycle has always been far longer than the iPhone upgrade cycle.

I also think it's possible that all these new iPad model numbers we saw in press leaks over the last few days are not "modern" iPads or Face ID iPads, but rather spec bumps for this year's fall event or maybe even a March iPad-specific event.

I actually don't care either way--I'm not upgrading my 10.5" this year--but just some stuff I've been thinking about.
