88%? Goodness gracious my iPhone 12 Pro is at 87% after four years plus. Now I have the 16 Pro which should last me to the day I die since I’m old.
I think the 14 and 15 series just have garbage batteries. I had a 13 pro max before this and it took over 2 years to get to this point. I charge via MagSafe every night but I have all the battery health preserving features turned on

The battery health of my iPhone 15 Pro Max dropped to 98% today due to wireless charging it everyday.

Does it makes sense to buy the iPhone 16 Pro Max?

Ok, thanks all for your input. I will wait till my battery health drops to 97% and get the iPhone 17 Pro Max instead.

Wireless charging is killing my battery health so much.

lol... Ok OP is definitely trolling us.

This isn't trolling, it's sadder than that. He was trying to make a post satirizing the obsession with battery capacity some people have. Unfortunately it fell completely flat.

1) A strong no in reponse to your question Does it makes sense to buy the iPhone 16 Pro Max?

2) If you intend to buy a new phone (and certainly not because battery reads 90-something percent) it makes most sense to buy it after the next generation (iPhone 17) has become available to test drive in September. If you still want an iPhone 16 Pro Max it will cost less then.

3) Why do you think that there is something inappropriate about wireless charging it every day? Personally I only charge wirelessly and never waste one minute of time monitoring the battery. It all just works.

The way online comms work, satirizing without including a /s tag is trolling. Folks from all over the world read these comments; satire that seems intuitively obvious in one's immediate close culture fails in many other cultures, even in the same city.

Even sadder than your sadder was the way I took it. As in OP is seriously that clueless.

I have interacted with that sort of person several times in my life, which is why my perspective on this was even possible. :(

I might be getting a new 16 Pro later today.

-Should I return it to the store after a few days and buying and returning it again at other stores so that my battery percentage is always (essentially) 100% and 0 charge cycles?

And how will I handle being the person at every social function who’s just winning at life and crushing the other guests self-worth with my perpetually perfect battery health?

Is being that superior to others fair?

Please help me figure this out!

/s tags can work as a crutch, though I always cringe when I see them. There are great examples of satire on the internet composed skillfully enough to not need them. This thread is definitely not one of those!

does your 15PM not do anymore what you expect it top do? is it out of charge mid day?

My 13PM is at 95%, guess I have to look into the 16PM now ;)

Do I need to upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro Max?

YES YES YES
Government needs the tax money and Apple workers need money so they can get paid for building it!
Spend spend spend.
