Ok, thanks all for your input. I will wait till my battery health drops to 97% and get the iPhone 17 Pro Max instead.

Wireless charging is killing my battery health so much.
If you want to upgrade, upgrade,
but as long as your battery hasn't reached 95% you won't feel a change in usage times
I think you can even wait until it reaches 90%

I am surprised OP waited this long. Should have ditched it at 99%. Incredible resolve and patience to put up with double the battery degradation at 98%. By all means upgrade, it's time.

What happens when the new 16's battery life drops to 99%? Do you drop it out of a window and make an AC claim for a new 16? Perhaps you abstain from using a phone until a month away from the new one to be covered in case it drops even lower to 98% and becomes nearly unusable. What's next? A hairline scratch in the corner seen clearly under a microscope? Life is too short to deal with such glaring imperfections, am I right?

The battery health of my iPhone 15 Pro Max dropped to 98% today due to wireless charging it everyday.

Does it makes sense to buy the iPhone 16 Pro Max?
A little facts check: batteries are degrading with the usage. Every single discharge/charge cycle is doing that. So 98% doesn’t mean anything: the battery surely isn’t the same as new. You can use your iPhone until the battery reach around 80/83% before experiencing a real impact on battery life. Really no reason to switch from a 15 PM to a 16 PM. Wait at least another generation to see some changes
And wireless charging doesn’t ruin your battery, if you are using a good quality charger.
This is actually a very good result!

My iPhone 12 mini was at 82% battery health when I sold it last week. Do you have any tips and tricks on how to maintain a healthy battery?

It might also have to do with the Max battery being much larger compared to the mini.

With my iPhone 16 Pro, I've set maximum charge to always be 80% - hope this will help.
Just use your iPhone and do not care about the battery.
Try not to discharge it under 15/20%, and don’t keep it at 100% for a prolonged time. It will helps to slow down the degradation, which is happening anyway.
80% is a too restrictive limit I would say: 85/90% will be enough

Send me the iPhone and buy a new one. My 14 Pro is at 79%.
Well, 79% is a little bit on the low side. I would consider replacing that battery anyway.
The answer to this question is ALWAYS yes.
Hey Tim Cook, how are you doing ? 😂

Why to recharge it ? Just buy a new iPhone when battery level drops under 20%: you’ll have a brand new battery every other day 😅😅😅

Thanks. Yes I'm already following this.
The 80% charging limit has been absolutely fine for the last 2 months. I only charge overnight. The lowest charge I had at the end of the day was 20%.

A question to people who have done battery swaps - do you need to erase-restore an iPhone beforehand for the process, or you just give it to the repairers as is? If the latter, do they ask you for a passcode?
