No but it would be very unlikely for them to have a large stock tomorrow maybe 20 a store and 2 week shipping time online makes more sense to wait. A week to catch up. Plus they took the bet nothing was wrong with the golden release of lion.

They did 3 beta releases. SL was release about a week after the GM. Lion is a digital download so it's alot faster to release they just need to update the server and voila! Whatever is in that box is either new macs or promo gear but not the LION OS

Hopefully there will be refreshed Macs tomorrow too. I just don't think they necessarily need an overnight visuals crew if tomorrow was *only* refreshed Macs. :)

Yes, I don't think there is any doubts about Lion being released along with any possible hardware refreshes... o_O

I read stuff like this, and I think to myself effectively, Apple has become Steve Job's own Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory, nobody goes in, nobody comes out, nobody knows who works for them. That picture of Steve Jobs in the top hat makes me think of Willy Wonka anyhow.

I understand secrecy is a big thing for Apple but what does it achieve other then just rabid fans? We know its gonna be a MBA, but even till the end they won't admit it. We all knew the spec's and what a Xbox 360 or ps3 looked like before it shipped it didn't make the demand anymore or any less. Could M$ just not tell people when the Xbox720 comes out and just spring it on us one day. There would be epic chaos.

Apple stores have security. Most stores they're apple security, but in some they're actually outsourced security. Either way, when the shipments come in, security has them in their control the whole time. Most apple stores have a "vault room" somewhere be it in the store, in a mall parking lot, in a mall rental space, etc where they keep the overstock and the only one with access is the security guard. If you don't know a security guard, they're often very into their job.... much less likely to speak than the sales reps, haha

Frenzied media speculation/coverage and, an air of coolness and unattainability that other manufacturers don't have.
Yep... not to mention what the heck do you mean "OTHER THAN" rabid fans. Companies would KILL for rabid fans, its a huge advantage, (always has been, but especially in the "social media" age). Why pay for marketing when people will PAY for your product and then market it for you?

true they I hope they have a small advertising budget. Probably not considering they could buy the smartphone market.

Why did every episode of LOST end with a twist and never leave the viewer satisfied? So they'd want more! By not knowing we tend to want whatever it is they're selling even more.

Yeah, then when the Finale aired, everyone was pissed, because it was all ******** in the end. None of it mattered, none of it was real. Awesome. lmao.

No no no! How can so many people get this wrong. It was real, only the alternate reality in season 7 was the afterlife dream thingy.
However the more important question is wether this rumour is real... (though I have to admit now being a little concerned about recent heat/temp discussions of SB chips... my air needs to be silent for lectures).

Rumor has it they stripped the Air of everything except the backlit keyboard.

"Lion, Meet Light. The Backlit Keyboard. Starting at $999."

My source, Mr. Y, has confirmed this rumor. It's supposedly Apple's first step in their new end game code named "K48.5". It's a revolutionary step of time machine... time travel. Rather than using space to backup, they just have you travel back in time to the appropriate time to where the document was where you want it to be.

I can't see a reason to label lion info as not to open everyone already knows about it. Considering how small MacBook airs are these boxes could hold 20-40 easy. I still have my doubts about tomorrow think the golden release was last Friday the airs still had to have the OS installed packaged and shipped in just a few days seems like a lot of work in a short amount of time.

Apple imaging computers with new a new OS is nowhere near the same way we upgrade our own macs at home. I'm sure it's just a hook each computer up to a master server via TB or FW and just hit download on the server and bam, you've got 1000 computers updated in just a few minutes. There's lots of stuff used behind the scenes that are way more advanced than anything you see on consumer shelves. And the Gold Master may have been in Apple's hands a few days before releasing to developers as well.
