Assuming you mean edges and not corners, and yeah I gotta disagree. I don't love the current design's 'feel' but I don't think the answer is to go back to that rounded edge. it always felt cheap to me. the best 'feel' design for me was the iPhone 5 with the chamfered edge.

I sure hope not. I want it to stay square!

I just got the iPhone 11 Pro Max (which has curved edges) in February 2021 and I'm still paying it off. I don't expect to upgrade for at least another two iPhones and I WAS HOPING IT'D BE TO A FLAT EDGE DEVICE!

And you're wanting curved edges back?!

No, no, no, no no! I am not skipping a couple of iPhone models just to go back to the same curved edges. Not after waiting so long for Apple to get back to the same sides as my iPhone 5.

No thank you!
I’m with you on the square edges, but I don’t like the rounded edges; I prefer the chamfered edges of the 5s way more. It had more friction and it had a little flash of light reflected.

i freaking hate squared corners ,very unergonomic and painfully sharp

allows for thinner bezels tho i believe ,and more importantly, more solid overall

just curious if you guys think it's likely to come back

i'd like to avoid buying a squared iphone for as long as possible
I might say take the years from 6-11pro, and then apply that to flat edges.

So we’ll see rounded phones again in [Sum(iphone6:iphone11pro) + Date(iphone12)]

*(Hope that excel formula is close enough to be understood)

I'm cool with chamfered edges. I've always loved the look and style of my iPhone 5. If Apple made a Pro sized phone with the look of the 5, I'd totally go for that.

I too wish the curved edges come back, the new phones are literally make look iPhones uglier than ever, Apple in my opinion is making very bad design decisions past few years, also, the curved corners increased more surface area to hold, hence making it more grippy (for those who say the Flat edges makes it quite more grippy)

Everyone is different, but I find it much easier to pick up my iPhone 5 from a flat surface than to pick up my 6s+ or my 11 Pro Max. The curved sides want to slip from my fingers because - curved.

May be but how does that work? Like by physics too, the increased Area for contact provides a better grip, upon that the stainless steel finish gives an excellent grip on the 11 Pro🤔

I sincerely hope not. The slippery rounded edges of the iPhone 7/8 were a backwards step. I had to use my fingernails to pick the phone up, rather than grab it by its sides.

If I didn't keep my phone in a case, I'd prefer the rounded edges. My 12 is noticeably less comfortable to hold when it's out of its case. It's also harder to pick up since it lacks the slight indentation just above the desk surface that a rounded edge provides. That indentation provides a slight purchase for the fingertips. Without that, providing a vertical force to lift the phone uses friction alone.

But, really, I almost never take my phone out of the case.

I find that as long as the iPhone's are light, then the squared design is preferable. However, if the phone is really heavy (12/13 Pro) then the edges dig into your fingers and it's really unpleasant.

I think the rounded edge design feels sleeker and looks sexier.

As someone who doesn’t use cases, I find the current ‘flat edge’ iPhone design much more difficult to easily pick up compared to the ‘curved edge’ design of the 6/7/8/X. It’s like you have to pry it just right to get it in your hands and ensure you get a solid enough grip so it doesn’t slip out of your hands. Never had that issue with the curved edges since the phone obviously has a raised edge when laying flat. I don’t recall having the same issue picking up the iPhone 4 or 5 with flat edges, but that was so long ago I probably just don’t remember

I prefer the rounded design only because it makes picking up the phone from a flat surface much easier. Of course others also say it is much more comfortable to hold the phone with rounded edges, which I agree.

It may come back once internals get smaller and cooling becomes less of an issue.

I loved the Iphone 3GS!

i actually find the squared off design to be more grippy, and i like the look better too
