I heard on NPR that Apple was no longer dropping the stickers in computer boxes.
I unpacked 6 new iMac G5s last week, and while I did not think about it at the time they did not have stickers.

My PowerBook came with two new Apple stickers...

And it didn't come with a car to put them on. Few more months until I get my permit!

My first G5 2.5 came with stickers. My replacement one came with them too. They are in with the manuals. I keep all the stickers from all my Macs and I think they are a little large to go on the car, so I had a sign and banner shop make me a few Apple stickers about an inch tall out of vinyl.

The thing I've noticed missing are the blank DVD-Rs. My 12" PowerBook came with one, but not the G5s.

My Dad has one on his Honda bike and he used to have one on his beemer. I'm totally going to put one on my piece-of-junk-Subaru that's like ten years old when it becomes mine.

I've been reluctant to put one on because of being pulled over and/or road rage. Most people are in the Wintel world so I can just hear some loon saying "He has an Apple sticker on his car! That explains why he is only driving 64 in a 65mph zone!". Or maybe if I got pulled over a cop would think "One of those fruity Apple guys". Regardless, I threw all caution to the wind and slapped one on when I got my dual 2.0 G5

Well, I, personally don't have a car to stick one on. I did, however, stick one on my Mother's car, my bedroom door and my Dad's apartment door. hehe

Does that count?

I felt the same way, especially during the election when I slapped a "Kerry / Edwards" sticker on there as well. I kept thinking, oh geez, someone is going to see the Apple sticker with the Kerry sticker and think I'm some liberal loon. Or, you know, I worried that some huge Bush / Windows fan would release all of his Kerry / Apple anger on me! Luckily, nothing bad ever happened. ;)

BTW, I thought your "fruity Apple guy" comment was hilarious. :)

I'm on my way to turn in my leased car and pick up a new one. Still undecided if I'll use an old rainbow colored sticker or the new white ones.

Good to hear...maybe the source I heard that from was wrong...or maybe the stickers are only included with certain macs.

I got my iBook about a week ago, and they came with two white apple stickers. To my dismay, my mom thought the stickers were already gone (i have NO idea how that can happen) so she threw it out

But, I went on eBay and bought two hehe. They go for $2-$10 there.

I still don't know where to put them. I'm scared to put them on my car because it's actually been broken into, right in front of my house! Took my ashtray with $10 change, gym bag, umbrella, but left all my CD's... weird.

Yeah, any suggestions on where to put my stickers :)

No Stickers in new Macs?

I bought a PowerMac October 2004 and it came with two Stickers. Later that year I sold it and bought my PowerBook. It came with two Stickers too. Meanwhile I saw sb. posting pictures of unpacking his U2 iPod, even that one came with two white Stickers.

So there should be no shortage of Sticker-Supplies. It is a cheap way for Apple to advert, why should they stop it?

Keep posting Pictures.

Ahh, Stickers on the Rangey(s) NO WAY.

I don't have any type of stickers on any of my cars. I think it makes them look bad.

I have two cars... no Apple stickers. Here's what I've got:

  • 2002 Audi TT quattro: No stickers at all (car's too beautiful to clutter up with stickers)
  • 1998 Mercedes-Benz ML320: "4W" oval sticker for Fourth Ward (where I live in downtown Charlotte), "W'04" sticker for GWB, "I break for Chihuly glass" (ha ha) sticker from the Mint Museum of Craft + Design, and inside rear windshield: PSL owner stickers for the Carolina Panthers (1999-2004 seasons)
If it ever comes to pass that I own more Macs than PCs, then I'll think about putting an Apple sticker on my car. :)
