The poll is starting to even out a bit more (earlier on, it was 75% Intel and 25% PowerPC - now it's closer to 50-50). Looks like the heavy MacRumor users, who probably spotted this poll early on, have converted pretty fast :p ...

I figured that the numbers would start to even out. :)

Anyway, I've got a MacBook Pro - so Intel all the way.

Absolutely, Intel all the way! :D

I've had my MacBook for a little over a week. It's my first Mac that I've used much since my father's old Macintosh LC. I'm currently sitting outside, listening to Radio Helsinki's internet radio and writing this post. This machine is just lovely...

eMac G4 800MHz --> Macbook Pro Core Duo 2GHz
He-he... CPU-wise, that is the exact same jump as I made recently... only I went from an iBook G4 800MHz to a regular MacBook 2.0 GHz... Nice jump, isn't it...? ;)

I've got an Intel iMac that's a month old. My two PowerPC Macs are still getting used heavily, but the iMac is definitely my main machine. I've run into very little trouble with the whole Intel switch. Even Photoshop is fast enough for a lot of the light-work that I used to do on my PowerBook.

Happy owner of a PB G4 and a PM G5 :)

although i am entertaining the idea of a possible trade for a macbook.

same as I was. I loved my PB G4, but when I finally got the offer to trade it for a MB 2.0 w/ 1.25 GB RAM... there was noooo question. heh :D

which reminds me.. i need to update my signature..

Yes, I am a proud owner of a 2GHz MacBook Pro. :)
hey, dmw007, nice new 'tar!

I don't have an intel mac yet. I'm waiting for more stable hardware, HD laptops, leopard, merom, and BluRay. i also think that the results of this poll don't really represent the whole mac community. people on MR seem to be faster to upgrade than many other mac users. i want to say that at least 65-80% of mac users are still on ppc.

well i'm officially mac-less

sold my imac today

it was my first and probably last mac, i'm back on windows and i love it!

edit: i'll still watch the wwdc tho, i want to see what os x 10.5 has to offer against vista.

I had an intel mac but switched back to a powerbook (that's progress... right?) and am currently basking in every second of its native photoshop running G4 goodness.

I had a white macbook 2.0 ghz with 1.25 gb of ram and a 60 gb hd. Now I have a Rev D 15" Powerbook with a 1.67 ghz G4 1 gb of ram and an 80 gb hd. I'm very happy with the switch.

as am I - thank you!

Nope, I'm in the PowerPC world for a long time to come. Just bought a top of the line 17" PowerBook. Ask me again in 2011 or 2012.

I still run Classic apps. Hell, I still run 68K apps.

I would imagine those numbers to be accurate. Heck, the actual percentage of Mac users still on PowerPC based machines could even be higher than that. :)

I wanna try an Intel Mac, but my upcoming trip will most likely prohibit it from happening. Besides, My Sawtooth is plenty fast to handle everything I want to do.

Especially since you have upgraded it to some pretty decent specs. :)

That could be a while- Macs tend to last for a long time. I have a PowerBook 5300 that is still working after being almost 12 years old! :D :)

I'm still going on a year old iBook G4. I'm waiting for the next revision of the iMacs and then I'll consider a new machine.
