I guess I am the 1 who turns his off. I do it every night - I guess I figure it saves minimal battery exhaustion, and also so that I don't hear any notifications going off (easier this way since my toggle switch is set to rotation and not mute).

Can't remember the last time I turned off my iPad 2. But I did just turn off my iPhone 5 for the first time in forever go figure.

Sorry...based on your position on this thread, you are the second person who turns it off!:p

i know this might be a dumb question, iam know for them lol.
does sleep mode count as on or off. i keep my ipad in sleep mode when
iam not useing it. i voted no for some reason i though that sleep mode is off.
in its own way lol.

Is it advisable to let the device on all the time or it would be better to turn it off when not in use just like laptop and pc?

I guess only if you are going on vacation... otherwise no point.

Some people get paranoid about saving battery and whatnot (for instance a coworker dims the screen bright, puts in airplane mode and else), but it's really a device meant to be used like this: Take it from table/bag/floor/etc, push the on button (or open the cover).
That's it.

Plus Li-Ion batteries can only live for so long (whether used or not) and Murphy's law is always there... so not like you want an iPad to last 10 years as your main device.

Even on a PC there is no reason to turn it off. Sleep mode works just fine and won't draw much power. I don't turn off idevices or my macbook.

I have iCloud set to hit its daily backup after I generally go to bed so I don't turn it off for that reason.

That said, I do power it off a couple of times a week to flush any garbage out. Turn it off on the way to starting the morning coffee, back on on the way to pouring said coffee after my shower.
