To answer your query: if I'm not using the WiFi why should I let that drain my iPP's battery? Makes sense to shut that and bluetooth off when I am not using it (like now.)
I leave mine on but turn off the wifi when not actively using it.
...so you've both noticed that turning off the wifi and bluetooth do increase the battery life then?

Pretty certain we’ve seen overwhelming anecdotal evidence in this thread as to why one would. Did you bother reading it?It's a no brainer I turn my iPad mini 2 off it keeps the battery from draining when your not on it. I don't know why anyone would leave it on 24/7.
That’s how they are engineered. There are no moving internals which are suspended when not in use. Also, Apple never says in any documentation to power off.Yes I did read it but still it doesn't seem like a good idea to me to leave it on all the time. At least 2 me.
