I keep mine on and sleep beside (serious) When I wake up and can't sleep back nothing helps more then reading MR ;)

Look for some of my posts on the "Espresso Enthusiast" thread.

So incredibly boring, pedantic, long winded, and logorrheic...guaranteed to put you to sleep in a matter of seconds!:D

I turn mine on about once a month and leave it on for a day or two, than back to the box it goes. iPad 1, MINT condition lol
I use my iPod to the floor though

Uhh, this may sound dumb, but is it plugged in and charging all the time? A full charge on a new iPad 4 lasts about six hours. Takes about that to charge from 4% or less.

Right now I can't plug it in and use it. The cord is too short for the closest outlet so it goes across the room to another outlet.

I searched online for a six-foot cord but either they were cheap and from China, or $15 from USA.

I turn off the wifi at night. I have an imessage sound of the horn they blow before horse races and it is loud. My daughter in law tends to send me imessages (just chatting) about 2 hours after I go to bed and that loud imessage sound wakes me up, so off with the wifi.

I turn mine off when I go to bed and then back on the next day. I tend to have a routine of getting up in the morning having coffee, breakfast and then turning on my iMac and doing some work followed by turning on my iPad Pro later, it does usually stay on for the remainder of the day tho.

The Air 2 and Pro are always on, with a 15-minute auto-lock also. I prefer my tablets to be available when I need them without their relatively long boot up time.

Yes. I'll turn off WiFi overnight, but I do not shut down.
Why?

Why not simply enable do not disturb mode? You can even schedule it automatically.

Because there is no point leaving it on while I'm sleeping it's just wasting battery!
Interesting. When I leave mine in my bag all day, generally it only loses 1-2% of the charge. Leaving it plugged in at night allows for downloads & backups in my case.

I was just curious is all. Different strokes for different folks.

But leaving it plugged in overnight doesn't that waste electricity? Also I charge my iPhone at night and that's hardly ever turned off as I'm using it through the day and needs charging at night.
I do use my iPad Pro a lot as well through the day, I've never left it on at night so I don't know how much it depleats when not in use.

Keeping an iPad charged costs less than $5 PER YEAR.

Also, my iPad referenced above is the new 10.5” iPad Pro. Very energy efficient when not in use.

Fair enough, mine is the 12.9" iPad Pro so I'm not sure how they compare energy wise.
