I love it but it has some serious limitations that makes it more of a cute couch accessory than a bonafide netbook type device.

Yes, I love the iPad! It's exactly what I thought it would be. I don't give a flying crap about flash, a file system, or multitasking. I do care about instant -on, a superb touch interface, excellent responsiveness, long battery life, tons of content, and ease of use in a device protected by a "walled garden". I still have an iMac and a MBP but truthfully they don't get much use anymore for day to day stuff.

Yes, I love my iPad. The first thing I do once I come back from work is grab the iPad and start using it.

I think it's basically an amazing unnecessary toy. Between my iPhone and 13" MBP, I could do everything and more that this device does. If I was constrained on money, I'd return it. But, it's so fun and neat, and quite possibly a head start on the future of computing.

I am very happy with my iPad. It is exactly what I expected it to be. Once multitasking is added it will be perfect.

Love It.....

I think the iPad is everything they said it would be. My wife and I both use ours a lot. The mb's certainly don't get the use they used to. Obviously there are some things you cannot do on the iPad but it is a ton of fun to use. Beautiful display and the apps are great. My 3G will be here on the 30th so the daughter will be getting my 64gb wifi. I say if you are looking for the latest and greatest this thing is it. Get one. We love it......:)

No. I don't like it.

I love it.

I've been using iKeys for piano practice when I'm not near my piano, iBooks for reading (which I'm doing a ridiculous amount of lately), and Safari for all of my normal browsing.

My MacBook is sitting neglected unless I'm doing heavy work with photoshop or iWeb.

This is not exactly a great place to ask a question like that if you are expecting objective answers other than "I love it".

OP - if you are looking for any critics then I suggest you check out the winsupersite.com with Paul Thurrott, he's a bit of a Microsoft nut but he was pretty fair when talking about the iPads limitations. I disagree with some of his points about its usefulness but you have to remember he gets paid to write about MS mostly so there's a slight bias to most articles there.

Another thing you may want to check out is the MacBreak weekly podcast in iTunes with Leo Laporte. Their last 3 episodes or so have been about the iPad and they are much more objective and optimistic than Mr. Thurrott (who is a guest on another podcast show with Leo).

I was on the fence as you were until I saw the iPad in action and heard about the first impressions of Leo and his panel. They talked about some best use scenarios and what they liked / disliked about the device including what they are using it for and how it changes what they bring with them on trips and such. Being a power user of most things I was worried at first about the iPad's limitations but I've found that my daily use of such a device is vastly different then say a laptop. Mostly for three reasons.

-It's always on. I know laptops have sleep but there is absolutely no reason to turn the iPad off. This just makes everything you want to do with it that much faster. Think if a netbook could boot in 0.5 seconds....
-It's the perfect size. It does get tiresome to hold it in one hand after a while but overall it is a great mix of portability and screen real estate.
-The battery life. I can't stress how surprised I was with how good it is. Their 10 hours that Apple quoted seem to be a minimum in my usage case. I don't play too many of the games on here but for web browsing, email, productivity apps, comic books, books, and news apps the battery lasts for quite a long time, sometimes over 12 hours. There is not usage meter built in so this is more of a me timing it with my phone's timer.

Overall I am very pleased with it. It really fills a small void for devices by being quick and convenient like the iPhone but also being large enough to do something much more meaningful and enjoyable. Just look through the apps on iTunes for an idea. I'd say it's getting better daily. The appstore feels a lot like when the iPhone OS 2.0 update was released except now developers are more acquainted with the platform and the apps are quite a bit more interesting. It's fun to see what a good developer can do with the added screen real estate.

Like others, I love mine, and my MBP is getting very little use these days. If I could find a way to print without another computer being involved, I'd sell my MBP and live happily ever after. I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

And yes, posted via my iPad. :D

I got to borrow a friend's for a day and WOW once the 3G's start rolling out I'm definately going to pick one up.

My MBP is rarely used. I send/receive emails through my iPad, browse the web, listen to music, etc. I carry it with me wherever I go. I've already written a few papers with Pages and made one presentation with Keynote. It's more portable than my MBP but not more than an iPhone/smartphone sized device. It's like a compliment to my main machine. I'm loving my iPad!

Loving the iPad - been reading books I haven't read in a long time, I can take the internet all around my house finally (I don't have a laptop), playing some great games on a much bigger screen...the only downside I have so far is about how to save documents to a public area on the iPad so my print program can access them :)

Don't care about a camera, or slow down flash...this is a great device, and I'm glad I picked it up on the first day :)

I'm in love with this thing. My only regret is I won't get the experience of buying it from the Apple store in Sydney on release day as I didn't want to wait and imported one from the States.

Alsoagree with what most are saying, don't bother with the 16gb. I went the 64gb and am happy with the extra $ spent.

Only regret is me getting the 16gb. Wished I got the 32gb at least.

What do you find you're using all your space on? I've actually been looking to get my hands on a 16 and have been unable to. I figured that between the Air Video app and Netflix I won't need to store much video in case I'm away from a hotspot. Couple that with the fact that my Synology drive will stream music, space will be plentiful.

If the apps are bigger than I anticipate, I could be in trouble I suppose.

I've been wondering the same thing. I probably wouldn't keep music on the thing seeing as how I'm most definitely going to upgrade my 3GS this summer. I would most likely be filled with music videos and apps. How are you faring with yours?

Yes!!!

Man I love it and yes I hit my MBP screen several times saying load dangit!!! DOAH....

Most every where I go has WIFI even with MYWI installed on my Jailbroken iphone I really havnt needed that feature much so no need for 3G version ipad or the monthly fee for sure.

I still need to buy a case for mine so many choices???? cant make up my mind  only thing so far I want one that folds at angle to sit on my lap tired of holding it.

Been using an old macbook 13" skin case till I find that just right case for it.

I use all my 64G space for apps & rare concert/music videos. Audio can get through pandora etc...
