Other Do you miss your Home Button?

For those of you that have been using a X model for a while, do you miss the Home Button?

I’m on an 8 and considering switching to an 11 Pro but I don’t know how I’ll feel with Face ID and the new gestures. They seem to be unintuitive, but maybe that’s because I haven’t used them much.

It's very much intuitive, I wouldn't worry about that. I find myself swiping on other people's phones that have home buttons and looking like a crazy person.

I do miss TouchID, though. FaceID is great, but man.

Other than it’s new and cool, is there any reason you’re making the switch?

I was upgrading every year or other year until the 6. Then I went to the 8, and I couldn’t justify a X or Xs. But now I’m feeling a little left out.
 
Home button? What’s that? /sarcasm

I don’t miss it, however my work phone is an iPhone 7, so I am often reminded that the home button tech was once “trendy”.

Not at all, I still have an iPhone 8 for work and it feels weird using it after having the X/XS Max for personal phones.
 
There’s no going back to a home button for me. The gestures I’ve been using for years now since I would always jailbreak, so I’ve been used to it.

Was a Face ID skeptic when the X was announced but now I like it way better than Touch ID.
 
I am the opposite because of the horrendous home bar design that is so easy to trigger when playing games or watching movies.

Touch ID may look outdated, but Apple could’ve stuck the home bar at the bottom all the time. But they didn’t.
 
No. Not at all. I thought I would, but I got over it almost immediately during my first use of the X. The swiping feels so much better (and perhaps even faster). In fact, it actually feels weird to use the home button on my iPad.

However, I do miss the speed of Touch ID. Face ID is very noticeably slower. Hoping the 11 is a noticeable improvement.

Mainly because I want something new, but also because I’m bored of the bezels on my 8. It’s a launch day 8, and ever since I got it I’ve always felt out of the loop. Didn’t go for the X that year as lots about it was unproven tech, and I couldn’t justify the £1,000 price tag.

Nothing wrong with my 8, it’s in absolute mint condition, looks brand new. I just want the new tech :D

One word... No

They seem to be unintuitive? The home button seems unintuitive once you use gestures for more than 15 minutes. That's about how long it took me to figure out the basics. I can't guarantee your experience will be like mine but I still have my iPhone 7 Plus and I occasionally play with it just to remind myself how much easier my XS Max is to use.

I used to have trouble with TouchID all the time because if my hands were dirty or wet (I work outside sometimes) it wouldn't work. With FaceID I look at my phone and it's unlocked. The extra fraction of a second FaceID takes to unlock is a fair trade for me.

I was legitimately concerned that I had used a home button for so many years that it would be hard to get used to. Took to it almost immediately. Love the bigger screen and you could not pay me to go back to Touch ID.

Heck no! Swiping up is way more natural and faster. Switching apps by swiping the bottom is intuitive.

Love the new gestures. I was using them on my iPad before I upgraded from a 6s Plus to a XR earlier this year. I hardly ever use the home button on my iPad Mini, since the gestures are the same (despite still including a home button).
 
I have a S9 for work and the max for personal. The S9 is closely mimicked to the max. Accessing the max is much more seamless.
my wife has the 8, and older ipad pro and I have an ipad along withthe newer ipad pro. The button doesn't seems to lessen the fluid use of a touch screen.
