I do. Hard to unlock the damn thing while driving without getting caught by the highway patrol.

stop using your phone when driving then.....

it took me no time to adjust to the loss of the home button. A lot longer to remember control centre moved. That was going from an 8+ to 11

I got the 8 instead of the X because thought would like home button more, but then tried the X at a store about a yeat later and did day 1 order of Xs and took 2 hours to realise the homebutton and touch id is so much worse and i never will go back to it

I went from an 8+ to an 11. I was so surprised, as I thought that I would miss the home button terribly, but, I did not miss it at all. It is so much easier without the home button. The only trouble that I have experienced is returning to a phone call. I am on the phone on hold, I go check the weather, internet, etc. Then the call says press 2 and I cannot get back to that call. In the 8+, the call stayed visible at the top of the screen. Not in the 11. That was hard to adjust to, I think I have it now. But, it is not as easy to return to a phone call. Nor is it as easy to save a web page, that is probably IOS 13. But, losing the home button was easy!

There should be a little green phone icon on the top left part of the notch. Touch that to go back to your phone call.

Thank you so much!!!!
I seriously appreciate that.
On my phone, it only shows the phone icon for a second and then it switches to the time. Now that I know where it is, it is easy to get back to the call.
I see what it does, it turns the time from white to green. When it is green, you can press on it to return to the call.
I would have never figured that out.
Thank you.

Glad I could help. If you ever get an Apple Watch and answer a phone call on your watch you can also press the same thing on your phone to transfer the call to your phone.

I missed it at first.

I then promptly got over it. Once you adjust to FaceID and the gestures it is a non-issue. I can’t say that I miss it much - if at all.

I miss touchID. Sometimes I don't think the people at Apple actually use these devices. I'm so sick of faceID trying to unlock my phone when I use it as a flashlight. I need to move around, I need to change angles and shine the light where it's needed. Don't scan my effing face while I'm doing this!! The real pièce de résistance is when I have to type in my password afterwards for having the audacity to use the flashlight feature.

I have not had this problem, but I can understand how it would be a frustration.

Nope, don't miss it at all.

I have no issue with either, Face ID works and so did Touch ID.

Only thing I miss touchID is unlocking my phone in a meeting when its flat on a table, at my work desk I prefer Face ID because I keep propped up in a stand.

Don’t miss the home button in the least. In fact when I use my iPad Air 2 I get irritated that I need to use home button. Face ID has been super for me on the phone and iPad Pro. I tend to use Face ID with attention turned off. So devices are open before I even look at them to use.

Took me a while, but not missing the home button at all. Just lucky I did not break my X trying to make a new home button in the process!

After using the Xs for a year and now the 11 Pro I really do not miss the home button, after a week when I got my Xs I was over it, I couldn’t go back to one now either.

Adam.

I bought the X when it came out and will never look back to a home button with a finger ID.

It’s so seamless I forgot there was even a home button.

I truly hope Apple don’t get rid of Face ID in place of in display finger ID home button.

It took me about a 1/2 hour when I got my XS. It's taking my wife a bit longer, but she's a bit more of a slave to procedure than I am (plus I'm an IT guy), so it makes sense.

Same. I don’t want to regress to any sort of authentication that requires even fleeting conscious thought or effort. I only remember FaceID exists when I see threads about it in here.

I moved from an iPhone 8 to the iPhone XR a couple months ago. I did miss the home button at first, but getting used to doing everything without the home button was quick and easy for me.

I might make a new topic for this but who misses the bezels? I know it looks sexier with the edge to edge screen but when I’m playing games or watching videos, I end up covering the top and bottom chins.

Moved from 7Plus to 11 Pro Max 3 days ago and I don’t miss the home button at all!

Face ID is super fast and you’ll learn the new gestures in matter of minutes.

Great improvement.
