No 15" Air yet to slot in between the 13" Air and the 14" Pro.Side note, what on earth is the MBP 13" M2 all about? Feels like that Touch Bar line should have been finished off.

I was wrong about max RAM support tho.Looks like we have a winner! 😅 Hat off to you my friend.
But yeah, it’s a head scratcher. Means that the display support limitation is not a technical issue as I hoped but actually a deliberate choice…
Compared the the M1 Air, it now has three ports because you aren't using one USB-C for power.Well that one is clear. And 2 ports is fine for this type of machine. MagSafe is actually a straightforward upgrade.
I'm planning on buying an M2 MacBook Air. I probably won't use the MagSafe charging at all. At my desk in my home office, I use a dock that supplies power and extra ports. When I'm working on site away from my home office, I don't use a charger at all. The M1 MacBook Air easily lasts a full workday. I find the return of MagSafe to be a bit silly.Compared the the M1 Air, it now has three ports because you aren't using one USB-C for power.
I have a 14” MBP and I don’t use MagSafe either - I dock mine to my LG UltraFine display when at my desk and on the go it has enough battery life that I don’t find myself needing to carry a charging adapter.I'm planning on buying an M2 MacBook Air. Sure. I have big dogs running around the house and no home office with a permenant desk or display so MagSafe is great for me.I'm planning on buying an M2 MacBook Air. They would have to run on my desk to cause a problem. The dock and its charger aren't on the floor. On my couch, why do I need a charger at all?Sure. I have big dogs running around the house so MagSafe is great for me.
You don't, I do.They would have to run on my desk to cause a problem. The dock and its charger aren't on the floor. On my couch, why do I need a charger at all?
Do you have an M1 MacBook Air? I get almost 18 hours on a full charge. I can't ever imagine having to charge with it on my lap. Even if you use it all day, just charge it at night. You don't, I do.
One reason for the 13” MBP is to give you an M1/2 with a fan so you don’t run into thermal throttling. I never push my Air enough to get there but for those that do and if it matters to them, the baby MBP is a cheap way to avoid that.I find their compare tool a bit... well, dishonest by means of omission.
This is the comparison of the MBA M1 and M2.

Leads one to believe there's no media engine in the M1, whereas in reality they've beefed it up and given it ProRes. And IIRC the M1 has 70GB/s memory bandwidth, not... well, none.

Other people have different use scenarios. Some don’t use docks. Some work away from their desks. Others do more intensive work that needs charging sooner or just feel more comfortable having a charger around. Some of those people have dogs and kids running around jumping over cables or not. For all of those people, MagSafe is not silly.I'm planning on buying an M2 MacBook Air. I probably won't use the MagSafe charging at all.
