I thought it was the other way around. .mac was first (and free) and then Mobile Me came out and that was a pay service. But I may be wrong and that wouldn’t surprise me.Exactly. – I also first really got into the Apple world when it was all dying out anyway, but for most of what .mac offered, I knew free alternatives at that point. Of course those were all separate individual services rather than a single integrated one, so that still was a plus for Apple's solution. Also at that point my primary income was the pocket money me parents gave me, so not exactly the target age group for monthly services, hehe.

I use mac, me, and icloud all the time. Just tried me.com prior to this entry.I never had a .Mac, was that in the year 2002+? or something? I've just recovered my @me.com from 10 years ago from Apple - I'm not bothered about it, but because it's such an old email, which brings back some good memories, thought I'd go through security to get it back.
