I’m with rolling duck. I’ve never used a case. The 3G and 3G were strengthened by the metal around the screen. I did break the black iPhone 4. I think it was because I subconsciously wanted the white model. I cracked the 6. The ecoATM did not pick up that there was a crack and gave me full price! No problems with iPhone 6s or 7 or X. Fingers crossed. I still have to use the X for 12 more days!
[doublepost=1536598305][/doublepost]I’m not sure that got the strike through. Oh, I styled 3G . I guess that makes a strike through.

I disagree. It's less noticeable than a case, which is the point of using a skin. If you take your time and install it correctly, the edges aren't crummy. Also, while it does use adhesive there's no residue left over if/when you decide to remove it.

Not sure about that, I don't think a fake leather skin is less noticeable than a minimalistic case that is clear or matte:

Just struggling to see any pros at all to a skin over a minimalist ultra thin case, other than changing the look to be like leather or whatever else, which by nature is designed specifically to be more noticeable. Personally I don't consider that to be a pro, but to each their own.

No case for my iPhone X. In the 9 months I owned it, i broke the front glass once and the rear glass once. I had AC+ so i had to use both accidental damage deductibles. Don't regret it one bit. Using the iPhone X naked daily was a joy and felt amazing in my hand. When you buy a premium product, it's nice to see and feel it, rather than just use it.

Haha i got the exact same one. I figure this will be a way to keep the phone protected, but use it naked when i use it. It is annoying to use the pull tab when you need to constantly check your phone and put it away though. I got the navy blue vegetable tanned leather, it'll contrast well with the gold XS max. I had my initials added as well, so $130 later i finally am going to have a case.

I second the taking your time when installing a skin. I had a gold skin on my X for 3 months before switching to a red one and didn’t have any adhesive left over, nor were the edges crummy. I used a hair dryer to smooth the edges out and it was so perfect, people thought I had paid hundreds of dollars to have my back changed out to a different color. I’m taking a break with the skins and using a red glittery Zuslab case.

Stop struggling and just use what you like. Nowhere in any of my posts did I tell you you should be using a skin instead of a case. And for the record, when I say "less noticeable", I'm referring to the feel rather than the look.

It's dragon skin, by the way. And it's NOT fake. :)

While others of us feel cases are bulky and hide the look / feel of the device.

For the record, I generally buy my cases / skins from Vaja.

I used to not use one, but i dropped and cracked the screen on my 3GS i believe and after that i begrudgingly have always used a case.

I always do use protection and it saved every one of my phones in the past. Even screen protectors keep the screen safe from my mistakes.

Water damage and the glass breaking. Even though I have AppleCare+ the price to get the glass replaced for both front and back I don’t want to pay for. Even though the front is cheaper than the back I still don’t want to pay for it.
Yes, two things AC+ does. None of which has happened to my phone. The last time I broke a screen was three years ago with a 6+. And Apple replaced the entire phone for the cost of the screen repair.

You're buying protection for yourself with AC+ and I get that. If I had the money I'd get it too, but I rarely do. But I've found that being careful with my phone has served me well.

On the other hand, the situational awareness of where my phone is has been something I've developed over time that very few people bother with. It's easier just to slap on a case and forget about it.

Until my iPhone 7+ I was using a case but after that never. I met few people who weren’t using any case and iPhone looked far more beautiful in hands to use without the case.

I even asked them, aren’t you scared of dropping your iPhone X? Simple reply, no lol.

Someone told me, it’s not that your iPhone will drop 100%. When you don’t use case, you tend not to drop at all as you take extra care to use carefully since there is no case.

After that, I do take extra care like if I’m showing something on my iPhone to someone, I hold it properly and those small little cares here and there but I love using it without a case.
