Yes, always. Have had Apple Leather cases and some Amazon cheaper ones but for more protection last year on my XS Max I went for the UAG carbon, expensive but good. I dropped it from about 45ft from a race circuit grandstands in August, it bounced off 2 scaffolding bars and landed face down on coarse gravel. Glass screen protector was shattered but the only damage was a tiny scratch on the screen near the ambient light sensor.

This time for my 11 Pro Max I've gone for the Evutec Karbon edition.

I am so envious of those that go case free. I love the look of the iPhone itself. For me, while I rarely drop my phone, it does get dropped. I try to keep my phone for 2-3 years before getting a new one. Thus, I usually use either an Apple leather case or a thin, plain black case.

I always do. No matter how careful you are, life happens. You might as well be prepared.

The 'I'm always careful with my stuff' approach is like the person who says they will never be in an accident because they are a 'good driver.' There is a reason they are called accidents.

No case on any iPhone since the 3G in 2008. I have kids but they know not to touch my phone unless I specifically tell them it’s ok (and that’s usually only when they’re sitting on the sofa or a carpeted floor, lol) and I’m always just careful with my stuff. At the end of the day it’s just a phone, and I’ll upgrade it in a year or two, tops. AC+ has me covered in case of accidents, but honestly I’ve only dropped iPhones twice in the past 11 years (once on a gurney in the ER so that one doesn’t even really count, lol) and yeah - I’m careful. It’s not terribly challenging. As a result, I get to enjoy the great industrial design of my phones, and the easy pocketability as opposed to cases/skins which add bulk and hide the damn thing.

Yeah. Didn’t in the last 3 months with my iPhone X and it got pretty beat up even in that time. So I’m using a screen protector and clear case on my 11 pro.

I have always used my phone naked, but the leather cases do tempt me. I think they actually look good.

always. I've always used wallet cases in the past but now i'm going with a slim moment case so I can also use wireless charging.

I just had to opt for a replacement for my iPhone X. When it came, I took my old iPhone X out of the case and noticed it was still so flawless that it was hard to tell the old one from the new one. Now my case is another story. I bought a battery case in June and it has so many dull spots and scratches from sliding in an out of my pocket. Those scratches would be on my phone if I didn't use a case. Plus I am always stunned how slippery and hard to hold the phone is without a case. So always a case for me!

I will say the finish on the new phones (Pro) are a lot more slippery than the X. The glass back on the X provides a nice stick.

If a 1000 dollars isn't an investment, I do not know what one is. I certainly can't afford to replace it, if it breaks.

This is probably nitpicking, but that makes it a pricy asset, not an investment (or, more precisely, not a good investment).

An investment is something that you expect to return a greater value than what you gave up to acquire it. Our phones are almost 100% certain to lose value over time.

A little off topic, but just wanted to add something to the post you were replying to.

Ive always used cases. At one point a couple of years ago with the iphone 6 or 7, I became such a case nut I had 23 cases. But as I've gotten older, now I just have 2 cases. This time around though, with the 11 pro max, I'm using this ultra thin case from Caudabe with a glass edge-to-edge screen protector and i couldnt be happier.

Unfortunately Apple doesn’t have leather cases for the XR 🤔

These are just as good

For those of you who are against cases because it covers up your colorful iPhone.......don’t forget they make clear cases now, just about every brand.

You can see your phone and keep the protection. I would have a clear case if it wasn’t that I like my case with Built an Inconspicuous credit card holder that’s on the Spigen CS armor.

I never use a case since I'm generally careful with my iPhone (and I'm just not a fan of cases). I also purchase AC+ just in case.

As for my wife, she always uses a case on her iPhone since she tends to drop her phone quite a bit.

I've always used the Apple leather case on my iPhones. On several occasions have dropped one face down on cement and only the case got scuffed, the screens were perfect. I tried the Apple clear case on my 11 Pro so I could see the gold color, but just switched back to the leather case as the clear case seemed bulky and slippery. The leather case just looks and feels better to me.
