As an owner of an iPhone XS and LG OLED tv, I’m worried that the new iPad LCD displays will be disappointing. Those of you that have the new iPad, how would you rate the display?

Well some folks on these boards have to justify their purchase... when apply comes out with an OLED display they will trash talk about LCD displays lol.
I’m happy with my 10.5” iPad. I’ll hold on to it until I see something worth upgrading to. ATM the current gen iPad is just a bigger screen, it seems battery life and display quality hasn’t improved. ProMotion is still there. So nothing new other than faceid

Yes, I wish it did. Have iPhone XS Max and an LG OLED as well. That being said, I think the iPad display is fantastic, biggest difference to me is the deep blacks.

Nah. No way. OLED on an iPad wouldn’t get the 120 hz promotion. So no. It’d be a step backwards. Plus it’d be even more expensive. So again no. From what i’ve read, Apple wants to skip OLED for iPads and use microLED, which would enable promotion & significantly increase battery life. But microLED won’t be ready until 2020 or later. So I am completely happy with the current iPad Pros and their liquid retina LCD displays.

I don't miss the OLED while I'm using my iPad, but I do appreciate it on my phone. The LCD on these iPads is just so good that when I'm using it I honestly don't even think about how I wish it were better.

Why is everyone saying you wouldn’t get 120Hz with an OLED display when current OLED TV’s are capable of 120Hz with apps??

As for OLED on iPad, absolutely as the black levels on these new iPads are awful, this is the one thing that’s really annoying me, definitely worse then the 12.9 inch 2015 model I bought before.

Not worth losing pro-motion for OLED

This.

I also own the XS and an LG OLED. Love ‘em both. But ProMotion is pretty nice. And I think Apple could improve the viewing angles on their OLED displays. Bigger color shift vs. LED.

I've compared the new 12.9 I just purchased next to both an iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 S. It's actually rather shocking how good the new display is on the iPad Pro. It's as close as you can get to an OLED.

I was happy with my monochrome black and white display on my 1986 Macintosh SE.

No joke, but I’m still thrilled that there are more than 4 bits of color (16 colors or grayscale) on any computer I own.

OLED is not a great technology and will go the way of plasma. The PWM is also a big concern in bigger displays. I found the iPhone X’s Max display downright bad. Much prefer the Xr Liquid Retina..

If Apple were to change to OLED only on iPad, I wouldn’t buy!

OLED for the iPad is _not_ the future, Micro- LED is. Apple will continue to use LCD displays until Micro-Led is ready, which I’m thinking somewhere in the next two-ish years we should see it debut somewhere. The benefits being it requires much less power draw, which results in increased battery life, it’s significantly brighter over OLED and offers a higher resolution over OLED.

Having both the XSMax and iPadPro I definitely prefer the display on the iPad. It’s a gorgeous display and the Promotion makes it very crisp compared the the XS, especially when scrolling.

Actually I have no issues with the iPad display apart from the dramatic drops in brightness when viewing at an angle. Overall, the display is impressive.

What do you prefer? Poor contrast or bad viewing angles of ipad pro? Please, iphone xs max screen is way better than ipad pro screen
