Nice! I've been waiting for this before deciding between Docs To Go and Quickoffice.

Any idea if it'll have the ability to access iDisk (like Quickoffice and ReaddleDocs) or powerpoint editing?

woooo hoooo

me too, been waiting for this before choosing between quickoffice and docstogo

i have a feeling that docs to go is going to be good.......okay, more like i'm hoping since i don't like how quickoffice screwed their early adopters. though i haven't bought anything from the quickoffice devs, i'm hoping i won't have to considering what they did but if docs to go sucks, then i will have to settle for quickoffice

Yeah, I've been looking forward to this for quite some time. Looking forward to seeing how good it really is.

Even if it doesn't come with powerpoint editing at first, I'd rather pay extra now and get it in a future update than pay less and get screwed by having to purchase another app like MobileFiles Pro/Quickoffice developers did to us.

This was just submitted? I thought they already told us it would be out mid-late May. If it was just submitted, it could potentially be weeks-months. Let's cross our fingers.

Well, for some reason, they seem to be under the impression it will be "a few days". I don't know what this is based on. Maybe they are being a little naive, or perhaps they have some prior agreement with apple.

good, good, good!

This will it even more useful!(Plus 3.0 OS and longer battery life is the rumors are true..it will be one sweet phone, well more then it currently is)

Yes, they probably know something we don't. Maybe they have submitted drafts in the past and they know Apple will accept this finalized version. I can't wait!

Me either! This app, plus the functionality that's supposed to be included with 3.0 will make me one happy camper

My only question is that I haven't heard how it will integrate with mail (i.e. open attachment, review, update and send back to the originator)... Anyone know?

Given Apple's current limitations, you may have to resort to using ReaddleDocs and MobileMe in order to do that. Unless Dataviz includes within DocsToGo a function exactly like ReaddleDocs where you forward the email to their server and the attachment lands in your app.

I think everyone knows this is a HUGE limitation of these types of apps. There are ways around this though. DataViz could set up a server that you could forward email attachments to. Then the App could sync with the server. Also, there are alternate email Apps out there. They could integrate email into this App.

Can't wait to see the reviews. I was extremely dissapointed in quickoffice. Ultimately I would have liked to have seen a iwork app just because it would have the potential to integrate mail into it.

An iWork app would be wonderful! I can't believe they haven't put one out already.

I wonder if Apple will wait until the conference to release this...

Yes!

DocsToGo brings me back to my palm days. I hope it works as well as before...

Since it took so long, I have a feeling that it will be an awesome app.

when is it out!?!? ive been waiting for this for sooo long!

I'm wondering the same. It should only take a week. This isn't a controversial app. As it is DataViz, hasn't released any kind of info on this app and they said it was supposed to have some nice surprises.

In-app email in the 3.0 SDK involves letting the user create/send email from within 3rd party apps- it doesn't deal with receiving email at all.

Can't we already do this? There are various 3rd party apps (ReaddleDocs, Quickoffice, etc.) that allow you to email files from within the apps. How's the in-app email in the 3.0 SDK any different?

Yes, there are many apps like this. But, what we need are apps that can access incoming emails (and most importantly, their attachments).

Anyways, what ever happened to this app being available "in a few days". Looks like the reality of the App approval process has set in - which has taken weeks to months in some cases.

That is partly true. Apparently big name companies do have an idea of when their app will be published. Google, Skype, Tapulous, and others knew the exact date and time. Since Documents to Go is a very well known app, you would figure that they have a pretty good idea of when the app is hitting the store. One would also figure that since the App Store only has one comparable alternative in this space (Quickoffice) the approval process would be slightly faster.
