Hey thx...not sure if I was looking at a different page but showed unavailable for the last week or so...cool.

Debating between that and a custom Portenzo (though it's been tough to order).

no problem at all.. the dodocase is nice, but mine had a defect. Hopefully their customer service will resolve it quickly. I'll update with my experience so people will know what their customer service is like.

Was thinking of blowing $200 on a custom Portenzo Stingray case but I can't get a response or quote for the TO buy.

I get their busy but I can only imagine how I'd feel being in the shoes of those that have already ponied up.

How is the spine in terms of accommodating landscape "on your lap" usage?

Anyone have a Dodo discount code? The 10% earlier looked like a rebate.

NM used the rebate and it's an an auto-completed rebate...no hassle of filling stuff out or sending in.

Since apparently Portenzo isn't interested in my money (well, that they are interested in since they charged my account on 4/12) but not so much in providing information on when/if they are going to send me the case I ordered, I have begun to peruse my other options.

I saw this link http://dodocase.posterous.com/emeritus-edition-dodocases-take-corporate-ame . I e-mailed Henry to see if I could get some info if this is available for the iPad2 case. My wife received her DodoCase about 3 weeks ago and while I like it, I would like to maybe have a graphic put on the front or get a different color than black.

I was trying to order a custom Portenzo but due to non-response, I just ordered the Limited Edition one for iPad 2...hoping I'm happy with it.

My Dodo has a couple of defects/QC issues. Sent them a note last night with pictures. This afternoon I got a friendly response stating that they will be sending a replacement case.

That's the way customer service should work.

To be honest my experience has been a tad bumpy with them, but the important thing is if they send out a new case as they said they're going to, they'll have a happy customer. When I receive it, I'll update.
 
Is this normal. This is my second case. Same issue. I know it is not a really big deal but I would like to know if others is doing the same thing

mine has the same thing, it personally doesn't bother me. not sure if bookcases made by portenzo or the others have the same thing..

Thanks for the reply. I have Portenzo and it does not have that issue. I agree this is something I can live with. Thanks for the reply.
 
For those curious about Dodo's shipping timelines--I ordered late last Wed night, and received my shipping notice today. So, 5 day turn-around, in spite of the advertised 2-3 week wait for iPad 2 cases. I may have just gotten lucky, but I'm very happy! :D

Case has arrived!

Under a week from ordering on Thursday and shipping across country.

I went with the standard shipping option as well...can't wait to open it!
 
My Sky Blue Dodo arrived today, exactly one week after ordering, with standard shipping to the east cast. Very pleased with it thus far. I have a BSE skin on the back of my iPad, which seems to make the fit a little less than ideal, but it still seems to work well (I did the shake test--no problems). The case is beautifully made-- love the sky blue. All buttons are easy to access. The wood is mostly very smooth, although I did find one or two spots that could do with some extra sanding. And it smells great :)

I also have a Portenzo ordered and assuming I keep that order and it arrives anytime soon, I'll do a small comparison for those interested.

Cool! I also have a Portenzo and got tired of waiting and so went ahead and ordered a Dodocase due to all the recent reports of quick shipping. At least I can have something while I continue to wait.

So far so good on mine.

The interior color is very light on the Limited Edition and the way applied "sticking up" to be stuck down when the iPad is in (and the material) used on the corners made a black mark or some adhesive marked over during packaging.

I should have picked up a camera lit today...hopefully I'll get some pics loaded up tonight from the laptop.
