I love having it as a backup/secondary option when traveling and hiking with a dedicated camera. Having a wider option in my pocket if I’m using a telephoto, for example, is great. And now that I’ve switched to the more “point and shoot” sized SE, it’s going to be even more pocketable 👍💯

I’m going to be kayaking this year, which I’ve not done before, and the iPhone will certainly be the first camera I take with me.

But my regular camera usage is for practical stuff that’s already been mentioned, and often fairly minimal.

What @CE3 said. Hiking trails I've been on before, occasional snapshot/spur of the moment. Have cameras for more "serious" picture taking.

And as others mentioned, more record type functions than anything else. Using it for scanner functions in Notes, Dropbox, etc. Take a picture of the serial/model number of something that needs fixing. Snap for later reference.

I don't use mine often. My wife does take a lot of photos with Kids but I have been starting to take few photos here and there.

I barely use it because it sort of sucks (13P). I’m using my 11P until I send it off to my mother.

Normally my cell phone is my only camera so normally I’d be using it for everything.

I seldom use my phone camera... Unless the condition is good. Because its still nowhere near DSLR quality. Especially if you need speed and low light capabilities...

I use it for documentation and work too, but also appreciate for normal photography.
While it doesn’t beat a DSLR, it is the camera I always have with me.

Not to mention manual controls. I wish we had more and better options with the native app.

At this point I think the camera is the most important thing for me, and I'm more than happy for them to take up the whole back of the phone to improve it. They can remove the 'phone' bits if they need to, I never make any phone calls ;)

Having 3 beautiful kids led to more than 100k photos in the last 15 years. My wife curates them whenever she finds time. I personally also take quite many plantlife pictures, they are much more calming than having 3 kids. 🌼🧘‍♀️
So the camera is the absolute main reason for me to have and upgrade my smartphone.

Use the camera on my phones all the time. Not only they're essential for QR code scanning for contactless payment and contact tracing, they have become my primary camera/camcorder.

Having said that, I'm not a professional photographer. Thus there's a diminishing return on camera features. To me, night mode will be the only feature I want for my next upgrade from my iPhone 7+. The other stuff are less important for me.

Meanwhile I'm completely satisfied with the cameras on my S21. :)

Most of the time I use the camera to send pics of stuff on the shelves at Walmart so my wife can make a choice about what she wants.

Last weekend I sent her five pics of end aisle displays to prove to her that what she wanted wasn't there (on the end aisle displays).

30 seconds after I took the last pic (a display of beer) someone knocked over an entire case. Shattered glass and beer everywhere.

Most action my camera has seen in a long time.
This made me chuckle, as my wife and I have done this to each other for years.

When cameras were just starting to be "important" on phones, I was lining up some feminine products for my wife on the belt when the cashier said to me, "I wish I could get my husband to buy that stuff for me, but he'd screw it up, or pretend he would." I showed her the photos I took of all the right items before I left the house, and she had a lightbulb moment, replying "That's awesome! He's in trouble now!" ;)

I use my camera on my phone regularly. I used to be a fanatical photo taker with dedicated cameras, but then I was always designated the "official photographer" and never allowed to go someplace and just enjoy the moment without pound upon pound of gear strapped to my body. So eventually I sold all my gear, and now am happy with the camera I always have in my pocket. Sometimes I'll take a few photos to mark the occasion, other times I'll take a few dozen. But my phone camera has been most important to me while hiking. It has helped me capture great moments while not adding weight and bulk to my pack.

I have kids and my iPhone is the camera I have on me the most so it’s used daily. It’s probably the most important element of smartphones generally I would say and the main feature that gets improved annually for added appeal.

I use it everyday for work and pleasure, and the ProRes capability is awesome.

I very rarely use my phone camera for "photography", as in a situation where I am taking pictures for pictures sake. I use it to record things, or find things to show other people or post to twitter, but if I want to actually take photos, I use a camera which produces higher quality and less processed photos.

I never used the cameras a lot apart from the first couple of days of getting a new phone. Once the novelty ran out, I only use the camera now and then at work and when I have something to share with family and friends.

This is one reason why it was so easy for me to go from a multi-lens camera setup to a single lens setup in the SE.
