This made me chuckle, as my wife and I have done this to each other for years.

When cameras were just starting to be "important" on phones, I was lining up some feminine products for my wife on the belt when the cashier said to me, "I wish I could get my husband to buy that stuff for me, but he'd screw it up, or pretend he would." I showed her the photos I took of all the right items before I left the house, and she had a lightbulb moment, replying "That's awesome! He's in trouble now!" ;)
I've had to drag my wife into the modern era of technology (she thought computers were a fad). But as soon as she discovered that she could text me a list…yeah smart move on my part, LOL!

I just started sending her pictures because it was easier than trying to call her and explain her options. :D

Yeah, I use my camera mostly for mundane things at work, like pics of product tags to check stock and the pics are soon deleted. I also use it for occasional random stuff. Rarely do I photograph something I want to keep for an extended period. I certainly never bother with selfies.

I also rarely bother being concerned with camera specs anymore given the average quality of the pics these cameras take is decently impressive.

I admit it’s become a handy convenience to have at hand, but I don’t think about it much.

I use mine often. Whether it’s taking pictures of my pets, scanning barcodes on my music collection or documents, recording wrestling video promos and QR codes. My front facing doesn’t get a lot of action, but I use the rear camera daily.

yes I don't use my camera much at all so I don't usually care about all the talk about camera upgrades

To be fair, yes, I use my iPhone camera a lot. That’s why I wanted to keep my iPhone 13 mini… it’s pity that I had to return it due to headaches and eye strain caused by the screen.

I will probably end up with an iPhone SE 3, and the camera in that device is not stellar, sadly.

Having a compact smartphone with a powerful camera is a winning combination.

I buy an iPhone because I need a 'phone', not a camera......;)

If you look at latest Apple/Samsung adverts, 95% of the promo is for the camera, it drives me nuts....🤣
It's a phone, with some additional functions not the other way around.

Additional rant....
Saying that, car ads are similar, it's all about phone integration......
I haven't made a phone calls in weeks but I take pictures every day. So guess what, we're all different.

Not to mention manual controls. I wish we had more and better options with the native app.
even with more manual controls...it will be nowhere close to a DSLR/Mirrorless camera. long story short,i went to a sea aquarium few days back with my son, used my 12 Pro Max to take a few photos and its all crap.well not all but the ones where it was dim was crap.

I have 4 kids, expecting baby number 5. So, Ive been using the camera for basically everything kid related, also been using the camera and video to document my pregnancy. So, it gets a lot of use.
