Mostly when I am watching solo, I just use my iPad Air and airpods and I like it a lot. Family viewing is always on the TV.

I use a 27" monitor with both an M1 mini and also Nvidia Shield TV. However, there are days I do use the iPad and yesterday I binged on an Amazon Prime show. For "regular" tv, I do use the monitor and iPad with Hulu.

Hell no. I watch movies on the big screen with big speakers in my living room. Nothing beats that.

The only time I use the iPad Pro for watching movies is when I am flying in an airplane to kill the time.

I have 3 TVs in the house but still prefer to watch videos on the iPad when I’m just falling asleep in my bed. It’s just convenient to be able to hold it in any direction and watch what I like rather than where the tv is.

Granted if I’m watching a full movie in bed then I choose the tv instead.

I still wonder why Apple isn't selling a tv. I have seen lots of TVs over the years, but none of these had such a beautiful picture quality like the iPads do.

I still use an iPad 5 and even there it makes fun to watch movies or shows. I often zoom up the picture because I feel like the iPad format is more relaxed to watch than 16:9 screens.

I got an tv and use that too, but I probably won't buy another one once it stops working. I will invest into a more modern iPad then, as I find myself not watching enough TV to spend so much money on a tv again.

Apple's 32-inch Pro Display XDR starts at $5000. I doubt there'll be many takers for a 60+" TV at the prices Apple is likely to charge.

We have a home theater with a 120” projection screen and a 7.1-channel surround system. There is nothing like watching content on that, short of going to a movie theater. However, my wife and I only watch things we both want to see, unless one of us is away somewhere. When she’s away, I watch Guy Movies. When I walk on the treadmill or watch something before bedtime when my wife has turned in earlier, though, I watch things that I want to see but she doesn’t. For that, I use an iPad and a pair of good headphones — a 9.7” iPad until recently, and now a 12.9” iPad Pro. I’ve watched many movies and TV series on my iPad over the years — probably more than I’ve watched on our home theater. The funny thing is that, when I think about those movies or shows later, I don’t think about whether I saw them on my iPad or on our 120” screen. I remember the content, not the viewing platform. However, I would like to watch “Breaking Bad“ again, but on our home theater, if I can convince my wife to give it a chance. She loved “The Sopranos“—but, let’s face it, Tony Soprano is more likable than Walter White.
