yeah they look good! an does anyone know if they cause any scratches?

sorry for saying this again, but just wondering

sigh. know what's more annoying than people who don't search on their own? people who waste their own (and my) time pointing out that fact.

Very costly.

Anyway, someone has already reviewed one of the aforementioned products on this very forum:
Plus a concerned punter wondering where his is. I cannot find a UK distributor though, given a few minutes on Google.

The Marware (I keep wanting to say Malware) appear to be on easylaptopshop.co.uk for us Brits and (!) proving that the $ != £ it appears to be a reasonable price compared to *cough* certain large American companies who totally ignore the concept of currency value.

Now I'm looking for the ultimate combination of "you wouldn't know it's there" shell plus keyboard protector. To be honest the MBP will likely sit on my desk 99% of the time, but will be taken into a laptop/camera bag on occassional visits. A bit of a pity there's no local stockist so I could try these accessories out for myself :-(.

does the speck case rub on the surface of the MBP? and does the case have an effect on the heat dissipation? like does it run hotter than normal?

I have to say the speck case is one of the best things that I have gotten for my macbook pro.

As someone who is always worried about dents and scratches, I no longer worry as much with the case on. I feel that assured about it. Since I'm careful with it as it is, I don't think the little nicks that I could possibly get without it will affect me anymore. Of course, if I drop it, the case probably won't do much.

I don't notice any more scratches on the mbp than it had (I bought the mbp used), and definitely no dings. What I notice even more, is how I can actually use the mbp on my lap now for the entire duration when I use it. I could never do that when the aluminum was on my bare legs. Now, I have no worries.

So the speck case has been a wonderful gift for me. I have the clear one, so it doesn't take too much away from the natural look of the mbp. I say, get it and forget it, and enjoy!!

my macbook pro in red speck

Im no good at taking pictures but here are some sic picture of my red macbook pro. The only flaw i can find in it is that the right port does not align with speck because I have the new santa rosa version. I got this off ebay for under 30 dollars so i must have gotten the old version. It fits snug and even fits in my brenthaven leather edge 2 bag which has blue padded linings. Its very thin and will not add any noticeable thickness. I just like the plastic grip on it and it gives off a silvery shiny glare which is BA. The right side mess up though is annoying. I only use the usb cord so the lack of fire wire does not bother me yet.

I just wanted to confirm that this problem exists. I too found a speck 2/price of 1 on ebay for a total of ~20 dollars. (I guess one for a backup when this one gets destroyed? lol). Anyways, none of the ride side lines up with the speck case. Rest assured this speck case is not a cheap chinese knock off, it came shrink wrapped and everything looking identical to the ones from the retail store. If wanted I can post some pictures later. Kinda sucks having to take the case on and off for firewire but the for now the protection is still worth having.

Edit: Forgot to add I have the new SR 2.2ghz MBP

Just wanted to chime in. I have the red Speck shell on my SR MBP, and I throw that into my STM/Radtech 15.4" sleeve. Fits a little snug, but it's the perfect companion!

I have my SR MBP in a clear speck case, a good fit a bit tight on the bottom half. I am quite chuffed, I now sling in to to my samsonte laptop rucksack and away i go. Also airport secutity not an issue now, I just drop it in to there trays. I am now not worried about scratching. Thank god.

Had one sold it the next day, scratched the MBP and not happy with the thickness :( my friend went to the Apple store and was told they do not recommend it .

Just adding my .02, I have a lime case on my MB and I love it. It protects it well and prevents the computer from getting dusty. No problems with heat, etc. I recommend getting the case from someone like ebay or Amazon. I got mine from Amazon for $25.00, several weeks ago, much better deal than the 40.00 or 50.00 the Speck site charges!

A fringe benefit of a neoprene sleeve is it serves as a mouse pad when you're away from your desk.

I bought one for my MBP. Its the red one

I do a lot of traveling as I am a DJ. I dj at clubs, sweet 16s, at home, everywhere and anywhere I can take my laptop out. I like being able to take it out in the subway and do a little mixing on the trains. Its great becuase I can take it out and not worry at all about it getting scratched. Also, it makes the computer look amazing. I've had many people ask me if I got it custom made for me, to which I of course reply "yes, it cost me twice the MBPs price".

It also fits in a neoprene sleeve no problem. One other thing it protects from is jeans and stuff with zippers. I had a pair of jeans that I was scared to wear becuase I was scared that they would scratch the bottom of the MBP. No, I can put it on any surface and not have to do it extremely carefully.

I hope it helps.
