Normally I'd have both, but in this economy, I'll have to sell my current iPhone 3GS to get the new one. I did it successfully to upgrade from the 3G, so hopefully it'll be as easy.

All I can say is if the iPhone 4G has 512 of ram, I will be PISSED.

I seriously doubt it will. Apple has a habit of holding off on RAM upgrades as long as they can. Even the new iPads only have 256. I'm sure they feel their ultra-optimized OS gives them license to keep RAM to a minimum.

Not at all. I find myself having more and more trouble doing anything with it other than phone calls, email, and quick web browsing. my eyesight isnt what it was when the first gen phone came out, and typing on the thing is just way too much trouble.

the ipad is the ideal couch potato device, and once i feel like i can take it out into public without getting mugged the ideal coffee shop net device.

As an earlier poster said, I mainly use my iPhone for talking, texting, calendar, contacts, camera and a few apps. Not much internet. The iPad comes first and unless AT&T changes their policy I won't be eligible for a subsidized upgrade until January 2011. Then I might wait for the next iphone, who knows:confused:
