The whole system is entirely broken at the moment, I noticed a pattern that entire band catalogs stop playing after 15 seconds.

Download in Dolby atmos and automatic downloads are separate. But yes I turned off downloads in Dolby atmos on my iphone, but turned it on my pad and the problems still persist. Everything is overriding and switching as the song plays.

Confirming this with my iPhone Pro 11 under 14.6. Connection drops after around 10 secs when listening to DA enabled songs. iPhone gets hot due to high CPU usage. Left is with DA enabled, you can see the sudden drop. Right without DA.

so it's a software problem that need to be fixed by apple, correct?

Trying to listen to songs on iPad with Airpod Max and any song with Dolby Atmos plays first 15 seconds and then stops. Never gets past 15 seconds. Turning off Dolby Atmos it works fine. It doesn‘t happen if I play from my iPhone. Anyone else seeing this?
Me too. It’s only with Dolby Atmos. Tried sign out, restart (vol+- sleep) and sign back. It doesn’t work.

I've spoken to a Senior Supporter. He escalated the issue to the Apple Music engineering team - including full log from my device and a video with a proof of the issue. In my case, the problem happens not only to the Dolby Atmos songs, but since the problem is both highly individual and highly inconsistent (even for one user), I wouldn't try to find similarities.

Let's just hope they resolve it by the end of this week and the Apple Music gets back to the normal functioning mode.

It happens for me with both Atmos and Lossless tracks. I had the data saver enabled over Cellular for Music streaming and it still managed to eat thru 5GB of my data in just two weeks and all my songs are already downloaded.
Funny enough I never noticed the 15” issue while I had the cellular streaming enabled. I had to disable the data streaming after it put me over the limit and pretty much every track stops after 15”. So for some inexplicable reason all the tracks still stream regardless of their download status. Pretty much defeats the purpose of offline listening.

This sums it up for me. iPhone XS, iOS 15 beta 1. Always pauses offline, if I enable data for music the songs stream without a problem. Also had disabled download over cellular but for some reason my phone went ahead and downloaded 1GB of music over 4G... Apple music is terrible regarding cellular data use

FIXED ON MY IPAD M1 !! Here how:
_ Close music /app store app
_ Go to setting/your id apple account On the top/media & purchase
_ tap on exit
_ restart ipad
_ now login again in the media & purchase

Come back when everything plays fine in Airplane mode for more than a few hours. Then I’ll give it a try.

It’s everything in Apple Music, add this to list of Dolby, Lossless, Hi Res, even songs on High quality sound like have vinyl skipping or similar to playing music with a CD Player without skip protection while walking with it.

It happens on all devices so It must be a server issue on Apple and nothing software related.

Anyone else notice that Shazam is downloading songs twice? No, not on wrong page as I have the same problems as others here...weird in that it (DA/Spatial) worked for a whole day at the park and then this morning: NADA. Killed app; shut down phone, changed some music settings ....no such luck. But did notice that when I'v used Shazam the past few days that its been downloading each song twice to my playlist.

Exactly the same with my iPhone 11 Pro/ system 14.6.
I just tried listening to songs under their spatial/atmos playlist under wifi, none of them worked, it sounds like it does but the icon doesn’t pop up, even songs that were lossless and hi res under wifi/cellular settings are currently not working. I’m so confused, one issue after another.

iPhone 12 pro/14.6 iPad Pro /14.6 also

Anyone else also have 'Shazam' double-loading tracks? When I use it (and its playlist is what isn't working for me) it adds two copies of each 'hit' to the playlist. Just wondering if this is part of the issue/bug.

Triple loading in some cases

Same here I have an iPhone SE (second generation) and any song with Dolby Atmos it stops at 15 seconds mark which is really frustrating and sometimes I get this message, I really hope that Apple fixes this absolutely frustrating issue

Same issue on iPhone 12 pro.

Tracks I tried playing directly on iPhone speakers stopped at around 12-15 second mark.

I also had issue air playing from iPhone to my sonos arc, same issue stopped after 15 seconds and airplay reverted back to iPhone speakers.

What the heck is going on here, paying for a music subscription and I cant play music!

I have the same issue. It crashes CarPlay while I was listening to downloaded tracks as well.

I had this yesterday, thought something was wrong with CarPlay, something is really screwed up in 14.6 or with apple music currently.

Yep...whats taking them so long? Not so much for the fix as the acknowledgment ?

Somehow today went fine while streaming lossless tracks and using Apple Maps while driving on the 12 Pro. However my 12 this morning paused on most tracks after 15 seconds at home with the Home Pod mini, I ended up turning off Dolby Atmos. It's still a hit and miss.

I turned off atmos and Lossless and it was fine when I tried it last night, so its either both settings or one or the other you need to disable for a temporary solution I think.
