I had the issue recently on my iPad mini 5, but it was while on an airplane and the music was downloaded to the iPad. I did not have download Atmos selected though.

Well the issue is the song only stops when your mobile data is off for music. I have tried it. When you turn off mobile data the songs stop at 15 sec and everything is fine with mobile data on for music. I tried signing out of iCloud and login again. Nothing worked but I found the fix for me. Keeping mobile data on fixed the problem for me.

hm, I've seen this and some other random issues with hi-res songs.

when listening on an iPhone DA songs stop after 15 seconds, but the other issue is if I play certain hi-res lossless songs and lock the iPhone display the song stops, if I raise to wake immediately picks up without pressing play/pause. If I switch my settings to High Quality or just Lossless the issue isn't there, for example the album "Ramones - Animal Boy" or any of their Hi-res lossless albums. doesn't matter if its on wi-fi or cellular or downloaded or streaming. not sure if its related but odd for sure.

Why should mobil data have to be on to listen to downloaded music? I would expect such from the likes of FB but Apple is not THAT stupid. What about their customers who don't have unlimited accounts? No, I don't think this is the real issue.

That was my thoughts when I was on our plane flight. I purposely downloaded 200 songs to my iPad mini 5 to listen to and it was happening constantly.

'Cellular Data'...'Use cellular data for streaming, updating your Library, and loading artwork'. No, I don't think this is the cause of our outages. Mine is 'off'...and has always been off as it was when Spatial/DA first started and WORKED for a few days...must be some other hidden issue.

I signed out of media & purchases from my iCloud account then signed back in and it fixed the 15 sec issue on all my devices.

Have you left the house/ your wi-if and roamed? Do you have cell/streaming on? Have you been able to download or ‘Shazam’ any content and play it off-line?

I didn't say apple is stupid. I just share how the problem fixed for me. and am not stupid either. when I keep the data on for music , it didn't consume any data for downloaded music but my music keep playing but its stopping at 15 sec when mobile data is off for music. I hope it clears the matter.

Not really...and I was not in any way calling YOU stupid. Sort of speaking 'tongue in cheek' so to say. Still don't understand why the data would have to be on but will give it a try. So...the music you were playing when the data was on was 'downloaded' music???

Q: Just 'media and purchases' without fully signing out of your Account? How so please?

Was digging around on Apple Support Comms. Here is where it landed me:

"Hi xxxxxx xxxxxxx,

Thanks for participating in Apple Support Communities.

We removed your post "Apple Music now pausing when playing downloaded music offline" because it was nontechnical or off-topic. We understand wanting to share experiences, but these forums are meant for technical questions that can be answered by the community."

Really? REALLY?

Anyone else having an issue with music pausing randomly, on top of the 15 sec. bug? It’s obvious that the issue is either 14.6, Dolby Atmos, or both.

Currently, the only luck I’m having is removing the problematic downloaded songs, and redownloading them without “download in Dolby Atmos” enabled.

Did that fix either issue?

I found myself in a place without cellular reception the other day. I tried to listen to some downloaded Dolby Atmos music through my Airpods Pro and it kept pausing. I don't remember if it was after exactly 15 seconds each time but that sounds about right. I tried turning off Spatial Audio and that stopped the pausing. Now that I have cell service again it's playing in Dolby Atmos without issue. Strange bug.

The thing with the two bugs is if you continue to use Dolby Atmos, one day it will be fine, then the next it will freak out. Or it will work for an hour, then freak out later in the day.

So far, I’ve not had any issues, as of now. The only difference is the songs aren’t in Dolby Atmos, which is not an issue, but I’d rather Apple work on fixing this bug once and for all.

did not have to sign out of my iCloud account, just media and purchases.
Had to put on my dunce cap (well worn...) but how did you just sign out of those two? Where from in Sys prefs or ????

Just got to settings -> Apple ID (your name at the top of the settings) -> media and purchases. Once you tap on media & purchases a pop up will ask you to sign out, password setting or view account. Tap sign out….

This only solves it for a short moment. It returns quickly to be an issue again. For those of us who spend a lot of time on airplanes (with downloaded for offline songs), it comes back more or less immediately. Apple forums have literally thousands of complaints about this.

Thanks! Will give it a try. Today in the park I played around with the settings and only got my Shazam tracks to play after making sure Cellular was on in 'Settings..> Cellular...> Music. Worked for a while and then I noticed that not only was it using my cell data but also that the amount of data under 'Music' per above had increased! This while playing a Playlist under 'Showing only music on this iPhone'...! WTF? Cut off ALL Cellular (under Settings) and the music finished the song in play then began the next...played..sputtered...played...sputtered....stopped. Strange bug indeed! Will continue to experiment but Apple has to get this together! Not sure what it means but was trying to play music downloaded by Shazam and with 'Spatial'...'Lossless'...'DolbyAtmos' all on...Tried playing around with the on/off toggles of each ....iPhone seemed at times to want to crash. What a kluge.
