iOS 6 was the most stable very matured os that apple has created. nothing but problems and glitches on ios7. their engineers are really probably exhausted from their work because I've never had random reboots on an apple device. you pay that premium to have those things NOT happen. and they never did.. until i upgraded to iOS 7 on iPhone 5 and with my new iPad air does too.

sold the iPhone for nexus 5.

dunno what to do about this air. maybe get a retina mini at least since android tablets are even worse lol.

Not a big fan of iOS 7 but it's running stable here, on my iPhone and iPad. Bugs and glitches will be fixed in future updates to come (like 7.1 for instance). Sorry to see ya go I guess.

I don't like iOS7 myself, but even I tried it out and can agree with Technarchy that it's a stable release. Maybe the glitches arose because you may have just upgraded and not done a fresh install. Im sticking to iOS6 on my devices though, I personally couldn't imagine going back to android :D

But I hope you enjoy your nexus! Heard it was a great phone.

I was vehemently against iOS 7 when it was announced. I thought it was a terrible design and all the pastel colors really annoyed me. I also wasn't a fan of the Aero transparent effect. However, I got a 5C and I honestly enjoy it now. It is not that bad and it is refreshing when you look back on iOS 6 now. I rarely use the stock apps so the horrid icons don't bother me. They just sit in my Apple folder. I think what surprised me the most is just how much I have come to enjoy the clean look of iOS 7. Everything is very clean and pleasing to look at. The whole transparency thing looks pretty cool in NC and in the dial-er. Third party apps are starting to look a lot better now that they are taking on iOS 7 design. I also think the new keyboard design is pretty sexy. It's a shame they didn't actually improve the keyboard with a swipe function. Control center ends up being a lot more useful than you would think. But obviously it can be replicated in Android. That's the thing. Nothing in iOS 7 is really innovative. It can all be done in Android. That is what disappoints me the most. I was hoping for things like better notifications, default apps, better sharing between apps, etc. At the end of the day, I still enjoy using iOS and my iPhone. It is just a stable, pleasant experience. Android is definitely up there though and I think once Google continues to make their own version of Android and refines the design language things will start to get real interesting.

if you look at the iPad threads a lot of people having random crashes on iOS 7 iPad air released literally 3 days ago... some people even saying their phones are doing it too. like mine.

all I'm saying is apple products are expensive. and thats cool with me ill pay it but they have to preform better than the rest. and like i said they DID until i upgraded to iOS 7....

Ditto, zero issues with iOS 7 on iphone5 here. Pretty stable and a refreshing breath compared to iOS 6. I'm especially curious why everybody is complaining about the animation lag doesn't seem to be a problem to me.

No animation lag here. Haven't experienced it on my 4S, iPad 4, iPhone 5, or 5S. Been a very smooth experience actually.

Either way since 7.0.3 you can pretty much kill the animations.

I've turned off the ridiculous animations on my iPad3 and it does makes going into apps and exiting quicker, however, there is still an insane and unacceptable amount of lag throughout the whole OS. I did a fresh install the day it was released. My iPad3 has since been reduced as a movie player for my son. Nexus 7 2013 has triumphantly taken its place. I would love to get the mini 2, but for me, the prices are ridiculous for what you get.

Android tablets like the Nexus 7 are not worse in any way compared to the iPad, just different. Right now, I would pick the iPad Mini (retina version) over the Nexus 7, just because of screen size and ratio.
If Google makes a Nexus 8 with a similar aspect ratio, I would personally pick that one.

If I just wanted a tablet that actually functions well as both a tablet and laptop, the Surface 2 Pro would be my choice.

Nice thing is, lots of choices.

The new reduce motion option has made iOS7 a pleasure to use on my iPhone 5 it really has.

I was't suffering the motion sickness but as an Android user who always sets animation speeds to 0.5x, iOS7's animations did seem a bit excessive. The fade in it uses with the option on has taken my last issue with the OS away.

No issues with stability or performance overall either.

My iPhone 4 however seems to have taken a step back into the days of Android Gingerbread for me. Lag, slow app load times and jerky animations really have ruined the (now ancient) iPhone 4 IMO.

I wished I'd have kept the old 4 on iOS6 to be honest.

I think mostly the "lag" people were referring to was simply that those animations were so slow. I certainly found them very annoying, they made the whole UI feel very slow and unresponsive after using my Note 2 with animations turned completely off.

But like you say - they can be turned off completely now. (I didn't mind the parallax thing though, wish they'd given us the choice to turn animations/parallax off separately.)

With the latest update, iOS 7 works very well on my 4S. Actually it has made me completely rediscover that phone, and iPhones in general. I used to quite vehemently defend the "lag free" experience of Android on my Note 2, but now that I am giving my old 4S a serious run again I have to admit that it is overall smoother than my Note 2. (I won't speak for vanilla Android tho, as I have little experience of that.)

I'm even starting to wonder if I really need to satisfy all my touchscreen needs with just a phone. I'm leaning more and more towards having a LTE Nexus 7 for gaming, heavy browsing, reading, general fiddling around with Android - and then an iPhone for calling, notifications, fast shot camera, voice recording, Siri stuff, alarms etc. When I look at the iPhone that way, that smaller screen doesn't feel so archaic and useless anymore. Even the 3,5" screen of my old 4S is well enough for what I need to do with it. Rather, the small size becomes an obvious advantage.

But yeah, I was disappointed with iOS 7 at first, but now I'm getting to like it more and more. It's about not expecting more from it than it is actually trying to be (goes for iPhone in general too).

yup it sucks, I have to reboot my phone about once a week now or it'll flat refuse to connect to my cell network. Since I cannot go back I'll just sell it and get a Nexus 5 also.

On my ipad3, the animations weren't just slow...they lagged. The entire is lags...scrolling lags, I get crashes all the time., everything is just bad. Almost embarrassed that I'm letting my son use it.

Either I am LUCKY.. or there are a bunch of babies here.

Have used ios7 on; iPhone5, 5s, iPad mini, Ipad2. All which have worked nearly identical to one another.

Used Ios7 on an Iphone4 which was "slower" but this iPhone was also loaded up with 30gb of media and apps on its storage.

I want to echo your thoughts. I have iOS 7 installed on my iPhone 5 and iPad mini and I have yet to have any issues. I really enjoy iOS 7 and for me it's a great improvement over iOS 6.

Indeed. Ios7 has a long time android user loving the IOS experience. Change was needed.

Just wish we could side load apps.

iOS7 is pretty stable for me, although I rarely use my iphone anymore. My issue is the glaringly blinding white on off white scheme, it's the most hideous non functional color layout I've ever seen on any phone in my entire life. So much talent, development and money wasted on getting rid of the old theme they could have used to do truly functional improvements.
