You've just motivated me to actually make the extended back to fit my inductive charger inside... thanks. (also need to find the internal pinouts for the dock connector).

That is a sweet idea! Good thinking! If the charger output can go strait to a li-po battery you could peel back some of the wrap on the charge circuit of the battery and solder directly to the battery terminals so you wouldn't have to mess with the pin-out. Also if the space for the battery (like in mine) was the same size across the back of the phone you could maybe fit the charger and a second battery in it.

I made it to work with the dock connector... and I think I'd like to keep it that way, it's seen and functions as any other standard iphone charger.

The start of version 2!

Thanks guys! It isn't done yet but it will have it will have a camer place. I don't have the lense yet so I haven't made a hole for it yet. And the black thing is a bare frame without the glass. I will let you know when I am all done!

----------

It will also be thinner than it is there as well!

Well done with that baq cover.
Love and can't wait to see final version and maybe a product (#)

Looking forward to see how it comes out. You could get this patented and get it manufactured and sold world wide. I think you should .

Hell, I'd buy. Much better than worrying when you buy a replacement battery with a supposedly higher mAH. I doubt there's a quality one out there that works as promised lol. Plus I loathe the idea of buying something expensive like the iXtreme or XS battery kits. Not to mention their cases look a tad unpolished imo.
Please, if you do end up modding it, alert me! I'd be glad to be one of the first to buy a kit. :D Especially impressive if you can get the lens to work out with the thicker case. You should already be thinking about making your own custom rubber cases for it too. >__>b You could be sitting on a gold mine lol.

You should be on Kikstart, we will all buy! also along with a custom rubber case a bumper would be great:) Im sure others like are bumper fans as well:D

Cant wait to get a update about the lens

Thanks everyone for the nice words and encouragement!
I was thinking of maybe making fiberglass cases and just using a mold so I could get them made faster without having to hire a separate company to do the aluminum machining so I could keep the cost as low as possible. I will keep you guys updated!

Oh and I have have a good idea for camera lenses that I am sure will work 100%.

Awesome to hear and an interesting alternative; going with fiber glass. But you have a point, doing machining could end up expensive and this would cut on added weight the metal would add. Excited to see how that would feel/look. Once you get a mock up, more pics?
Also glad to hear you have ideas for the lensing. Your making some insane progress in a short period of time. >__>b

I have been really busy and haven't got much done but I thought this was kinda silly...

Oh and since I can completely replace batteries.. I have an idea on how I could make a new wall charger/battery rplacement that would be able to charge in about 10 mins from 0 to full.

If that's the amount of time you get that's incredible and i definitely wouldn't mind buying one.

if you can pull of the charger Idea to safely charge in anything to that time frame. I think that would be a excellent kickstarter project way better then the double battery like mod. :D I'd be interested.

10 minutes from zero to full? is that even possible? i would gladly pay $300 for that kind of charger.

Very cool and ingenious, but hideous! :p

Edit: Just saw version 2, now thats awesome!

I think it would depend on what the battery is rated too really. I'm not an engineer so anyone who knows more about this can correct me if I am wrong.

I race RC Cars and with a good charger and high rated battery you can get 3000+ mAh back in the battery in a little bit more than 10 minutes time no problem. This is using LiPo batteries.
