Ok,

I am happily typing away on my Macbook Air 2013 with Yosemite. Everything working well. Nothing seems broken. Thanks for the help. I think Yosemite looks great and it make my secondary display even work better!

Hey I used this http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20110831105634716 (on a Mavericks machine and it got me the basesystem.dmg for mavericks), which then dowloaded the 5.3 GB packages form apple. I then used a tutorial that needs both of these to make a bootable USB installer for Mavericks, where you restore the basesystem.dmg onto a usb using disk utility and then copy over the 5.3 packages into the right folder which means you can do it without internet. I have yet to test it but it should work. I'm hoping it will upgrade other systems.

Also once you get the base system disk you can internet install onto any drive form the mother machine in my case one with Mavericks on it. I did it to a external SSD via USB and then dropped it into the early 13" macbook unibody and booted up fine first time. A system with had Mountain Lion and the WIFI stopped working and now it's working again with Mavericks.

Just wanted to update this thread. Everything went great. Yosemite is pretty awesome. Phone calls from my MacBook Air worked flawlessly. Hand off initially only worked with Safari from MacBook Air to iPhone. I had to turn on iCloud on my devices and then reinstall Pages, Numbers and Keynote on my iPhone. Now all is good. Again thanks for the help! Still have the clone of my hard drive but I doubt I will ever need it.

I'm so sick of Yosemite's WiFi issue and general slowness and beach balling.

I own a late 2013 rMBP, I should be able to to an internet restore to Mavericks, right?

Trators have probably hidden it from you because they don´t want you to use the Perfectly stable, beautiful, fast, efficient and simply powerful OS.

They want to force you to use the ¨NEW OLD¨

OUTDATED, UGLY, SLOW, OLD-FASHONED, BORING, GAME-LIKE OS they've created now.

Thank God for Internet Recovery. Hope they never remove internet recovery mavericks.

I know this is an old post, but I just wanted to add to it real quick. I can still, to this day, download every previous copy of OS X from the App Store from 10.7 forward. Apple is not forcing you to stay on 10.10 in any way, however if your machine shipped with 10.9 like my rMBP, it would not show in the purchases tab, you would have to use internet recovery.

Personally, I like the new interface and have yet to have problems relating to speed on my machines. I have seen some slow down on family member's machines (2010 MBPs) but those machines are 5 year old laptops and are still running fast enough for everyday tasks and I have not heard a complaint about them.

I own a late 2013 rMBP, I should be able to to an internet restore to Mavericks, right?

Yes that is correct.
