use Extras/SHSH blobs/Query to find out what blobs are saved by cydia, make sure you have the correct ECID for the device

I tried again and it shows 6.0.1 only but im 100 % sure that it had saved shsh in cydia. How can they be gone now

Log shows for all shsh :

CYDIA DOES NOT HAVE YOUR SHSH FOR iPhone4CDMA 5.1.1 (9B206) THERE IS NO WAY FOR YOU TO GET THEM. SORRY. YOU ARE JUST TOO LATE. 01/14/2013 17:28:44.470 For version [iPhone4CDMA 5.1 (9B176)] - This device isn't eligible for the requested build.

so i quess there is nothing to do now ? :/

im sorry to dig up an old thread, but if your on ios 5.0.1, with no blobs saved, you can still save them? or am i mis understanding?

If you're on an iPhone 4 or 3GS or itouch 4th or basically an older device and are on an iOS version, you can use ifaith or redsn0w to create an SHSH blob for that respective firmware version (this only works because of the bootrom exploit)

So even now, you can still save your iOS 5.0.1 shsh blobs if they have never been saved before? Is there any catche?

----------

So I can buy an iPhone 4 on iOS 5.0.1 with no blobs saved, and save 5.0.1 blobs that I can restore to? This sounds to good to be true!

Yes, you can buy a stock, never jailbroken before iPhone 4 with no SHSH blobs of any kind running on for example iOS 5.0.1. Using ifaith or redsn0w, you can create an SHSH blob that will allow you to restore to 5.0.1 indefinitely [note: these SHSH blobs are not from apple, they are created using the program which has the same use/function as an SHSH blob; for example, ifaith dumps the SHSH blob with a .ifaith extension. I'm not too sure about redsn0w though]

There is no catch (well, except the fact that a bootrom exploit is needed for this to work which the iPhone 4 has)

So I can downgrade it or restore as many times as I want? It's not a one time thing? And can anyone confirm that it works if they have tried it?

As long as you don't lose that dumped SHSH/ifaith/etc blob, you can restore to that firmware as many times as you want

I assume you are aware you need to make a custom firmware that is stitched with the SHSH blobs

Right, also, does this work even if the phone was oat updated, and does it work with is 5.1.1 as well?

If the SHSH blob you dumped is for 5.0.1, then no, it won't work for 5.1.1. It is only for that specific version

Yes, assuming we are talking about the iPhone 4 here, it is possible to restore to whatever version you have valid blobs for even if you're on a lower or higher version

i know, but what I'm asking is if the phone is on iOS 5.1.1, can i dump the blobs for that versions well? or is it only pre iOS 5.1.1? also, i know that its becoming obsolete, but it will be jailbroken, so i can always find ways around that ;)

If it's on 5.1.1, then you dump blobs for that version. It can dump blobs for all firmware versions since its an A4 chip iPhone

So if it was on 6.1.2, you dump blobs for 6.1.2
If its on 3.1.2, you dump blobs for 3.1.2
If its on 4.1, you dump blobs for 4.1

edit: I just realized the iphone 4 never came with iOS 3 :p

ok so if i end one with a version i want (iOS 5.0.1 or 5.1.1), i can just save them when i get it?
I'm still in shock lol

Yup. That's the beauty of the limera1n exploit. A boot-level exploit changes the jailbreaking dynamics in terms of what's possible. If the newer devices had one it would change the game. Sadly, the chances of us ever having one again are extremely slim. Future jailbreaks will almost always be userland based. But hey, no complaints here! I'm just grateful each iOS version has had a jailbreak. That alone is enough to satisfy me :D

yes, you can save them when you get them. I'm not sure if you can upload them onto cydia's server though so it's best to save it somewhere on your hard drive, usb flash drive, etc. I know if you dump the blobs using iFaith, it stores the blob on their server. I'd still recommend a local copy though

One more question, if the iPhone was updated ota, will this still work? Or does it work on any iPhone 4?
