I think the Droid presenter is fine.

On the other hand, the last presenter that Apple used for the 3GS rollout was a creep show and a half. The chipmunk teeth really got me freaked out.

Hey Droid, you will be forgotten in 3 months.

I actually like the walkthrough, easy to see the features, looks cool
Droid is getting some good attention, nice features and Android 2.0 looks really really nice
And Apple... black dude on the white background...
Droid looks hot!

C'mon Apple kiss-asses start trashing me!

I'm sure the Droid is indeed a fine device, but much like the Pre, it'll be forgotten when the next contender steps up for the anti-Apple fanboys(who, by the way are just as fanatical as as their opposite numbers), to worship.
Rinse and repeat.
Moto's Droid, like the Pre, is a great device, but where are all the Pre fanboys/trolls now?

LOL i remember all the Pre fanboys who were in here shoving this phone down our throat like Palm Pimp. Where are they now. This phone will be forgotten in 3 months when the next iphone killer comes on board.

The way they load their videos is incredibly lame. I put it on pause so I can do something else. Next thing you know, I hear the guy's voice. When I check the player it's still on pause. Annoying.

I must say that the Droid is nice! I like the interface and I think it's slightly more functional than the iPhone's. I don't like the on-screen keyboard and I didn't even try out the physical one. The screen is slightly larger.

I don't know about the battery life, but we backgrounded Pandora, which was great! I definitely like the iPhone more, though. The Droid was a bit sluggish at times.

It connects to WiFi networks, even secure ones. Not only does the iPhone do that, my Cingular 8125 with Windoze mobile did it too. I also hate his crooked smile. THe android OS needs polish visually. It looks like Mac OS 9 to me. The built in removable battery allows you to get embarassed when you drop it and it lands and flys into 3 pieces. iDon't like removable batteries.

The main reason that folks are excited about the Droid is because it is the only game in town on VZ. I have both the iPhone 3GS and the Droid and like the iPhone more but not on AT&T. Verizon in my area is better hence I have a Droid and a iPhone. The Droid will not be a iPhone killer any time soon. It still has a lot of growing to do, but on VZ that is all that we have until the HTC Dragon with Sense comes and that will be a really nice phone.

I am surprised that nobody mentioned the original iPhone killer, the Blackberry Storm. That one sent Apple running scared!

Oh, wait, maybe I am thinking of the Palm Pre.

Bottom line is there are enough phones out there to make everyone happy. If you come to an iPhone forum, touting how great another phone is, you should expect a negative response. If you love the Droid, the Pre, the Storm, etc, go to their respective forums and swap love stories.

Lol no. The bottom line is that I began this thread to show the tool running the guided tour for the Droid to everyone because he sucks so bad. It's gone and turned into the 500th "Droid vs. iPhone: My take" threads.

It wasn't meant to be an arguement about the phones, just watch the tutorial and try to resist throwing your mouse at the screen when the jack*ss tries to brag about the "revolutionary" features of the Droid. You know, things like the ability to make phone calls, touch screen and wifi... 0o0o0o0o0o0o.

wow...Nice phone. It had me at "removable battery" and the upgradeable memory. Small things i know but i still have resentment lurking in the deepest recesses aimed at Apple for closing off my back cover and giving me that option to use a spare battery.

The Following Is Based On True Events

Its not always practical to assume we all have access to a usb port or an electrical outlet...ALL OF THE TIME. Like when your car battery is stone dead & your stranded in the middle of nowhere with literally 7% battery left and your very aware you are using an iphone which means that 7% wont necisarily give you enough call time to give all details of your emergency/whereabouts

I couldn't punch that smirk hard enough ...

On another note, the amount of tit-for-tat digs at Apple in the Guided Tour is hilarious.

Come back when you've sold 30 million units.

LMAO!!!!! :D Dude I laughed so fracking hard a spat on my new screen!
I agree I couldn't punch it hard enough either.

LMAO! Dude I laughed almost as hard seconds after the post quoted above. Chickmunk teeth! This guy does look freaky, and his confidence exudes arrogance (to me at least) and it's annoying - couldn't watch past the third video.

Apple needs to get people that look less shocking to the eyes ... I vote Kimiko.

Hey Droid, you will be forgotten in 3 months.

It might be, but only because strong rumors are pointing towards the HTC Dragon coming to Verizon in December...

That's the HD2 with Android 2.0.

By all reports, the HD2 manages to make WinMo look incredibly good, so imagine what it will be like with Sense UI on the latest Android.
That's what he meant - that there's always another Pre-esque contender looking to step on the scales. They always win the tale-of-the-tape, but quit on their stools by the later rounds.

lol sounds like the fanboyism is coming out now that the droid is here

anyways, i feel that this is the best thing to happen. I really hope Apple delivers on the next iPhone instead of just adding a few features rewrapped, well actually not even rewrapped but in the same case.

Consumer wins with competition

I stopped at “the forward thinking design of Motorola”.

You don't have multi tasking on your iPhone? I do.....

Maybe their iPhone loads the kernel_task and stops.

I'm curious about the marketing. It seems they have gone all about to appeal to the gizmodo-reading/geeky/sci-fi nerd demographic, which let's face it, isn't exactly huge. And what appeals to this group like isn't going to have mass market appeal either. Yet curiously the sales numbers coming in are very good. Possibly because it is the only good phone Verizon has.

"Plus it can even access Wifi networks, even secure ones."

I loved how he emphasized on "Wifi" and the "Even secure ones" as if it's the 1st phone to do it...

As if Apple hasn't done this? Three of the main selling points of the 3G S were video recording, voice control, and MMS. My Motorola Razr had that four years ago...
