Dual Core or Dual Processor

Get at least another Gig and get a ATI 9800 or X800 card.

ok, now as i said. if i could only choose one, which would it be? upgrade RAM or cpu?

If your going with IBM(Apple) hardware they you'll probably want to see this. I have some benchmarks below. As you can see the top dual core and the top dual process system are very close, but the dual processor beats it because of the dual bus.
