Hi, has anyone had any luck getting their Demo printers to work using Yosemite? I just installed DP6 and the two Dymo label writers I have installed don't print, they just crash when I print, the Demo software runs but there seems to be no connection between it and the printers. Thanks

My Dymo Label Writer 450 doesn't crash Yosemite, but I get an error message that the printer is not connected when I know for sure that it is.

The driver is not working on the machine that you have 10.10 installed onto, I found a workaround is to have the Dymo printers connected to another Mac on the network that has 10.9 and share the printers to the Mac that has 10.10

Thank You. The rMBP is the only Mac on my network. But I am running Parallel so I may try running it under Windows 7.

I cannot use my dymo printers still I update my MacOs X 10.10 Yosemite.

This Yosemite is available for developers since several MONTHS !
Not for yours ???

And Yosemite beta is available for everyone since several weeks !

Yosemite beta is already downloaded by more a million Mac users !

And no beta for dymo users ? Nothing ? We cannot use dymo printers still end of September ???

Amazing !!!

Yes truly pathetic that Dymo are so slow, This stops me using 10.10 unfortunately. If anyone can think of a decent workaround I would appreciate it, the other way I have discovered is to use another Mac on the network for the printers and share them but it's a waste of another Mac and slow.

yes it is a shame !

they told me they wait Yosemite is official (not beta) to work on an update !!! Amazing !

Personally, i kept Yosemite but i don't use Dymo anymore...

Of course, when they be able to support yosemite, i will use again my Dymo, but when i will replace my printer, i don't think i buy a Demo again... Their support is the worst in print industry i met...

For sure. The Dymo Label Writer software does NOT work with Yosemite. Here is the response I received from Customer Support.

Dear Mel,

Unfortunately our software is currently not supported by OS X Yosemite. The Mac OS is nearing its final testing stages but has not official been released. However, our developers are actively working on the issue, so that when the OS update is released the software and LabelWriters will be compatible with it. We do not have an exact ETA for the release date of the update as of yet. We are fully aware of the issue and are working towards a solution for our customers. Hopefully this email has answered your questions regarding this issue. If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to respond to this email, and also thank you for choosing DYMO.

Thank you,
Christopher

Thanks, the annoying part is that the software works, it's just their printer drivers that don't. Strange attitude from them to not be part of a public beta of this scale, if they just had those drivers as betas too then this would not even be an issue but a lot of people like me, need label printers, have chosen Dymo and are not able to take part in the 10.10 beta releases because it turns the printers into paperweights.

If you're using something like the Dymo LabelWriter 450 then, for some reason, an earlier software/driver version - 8.3.1.1533 - works just fine on Yosemite. The first time you try to print something a message pops up about repairing the driver. After Yosemite has done that it's plain sailing.

Solved!

Unbelievable - thanks, I confirm it works. The question is - why on earth don't Dymo just tell you that on their site, so typical of them, a million beta users of Yosemite and they leave all their users out in the cold waiting for this mysterious new version when they have an older version that works perfectly. It's hard to find where to download it too, they only have the latest version on their site, not the older versions. Thanks again for fixing this issue with this great workaround.

Dymo 4XL

For the 4XL only 8.5.1 and 8.5.0 drivers are available. Has anyone tried that too?

Thank you

or doesn't tell that to their customers !!!

Dymo probably operates like a lot of companies in that they don’t openly support unreleased operating systems. Yosemite is still beta and they don’t want to encourage a minority of users to do something that they don’t know might not change the next day (with a new update) or work consistently at all.

They test at earliest when GM hits, but usually does it at after it officially releases and sometimes after the first update.

FIXED in Beta 5

My old 400 Turbo is now printing happily, labels and stamps with the latest Yosemite Beta update. I have not loaded 8.5.1 since the current version 8.4.0.1759) is working.:):)

Thanks a lot for this thread! After downgrading from 8.5.1 to version 8.4.0.1759 and pressing Ok on the driver repair message, my Dymo LabelWriter 450 is printing again. Sweet.

Thanks so much! Works for me. Your advice saved my day.

For convenience, here is a direct link to DLS8Setup.8.3.1.1533.dmg.

Works great for me also. Many thanks for the link. Only needed to use
control click to install as Yosemite considers it from unidentified developer.

After installing 8.3.1.1533 it was necessary to remove the existing Dymo icon from the Dock
and move the 8.3.1.1533 app from the application window to the Dock to force the system to
use the 8.3.1.1533 app rather than the existing non functioning app. That really, really does make sense, but there ought to be a better way to say it.
