El Capitan is now on the featured tab of Mac app store.. no more searching..

Depends heavily on WHEN you try to download. If anybody tries even the best internet connection gives you long waiting times.

This would be a few hours download time at least for me.

It all depends on Apple's servers abilities to keep up with demand... you might find out it will take you longer than 3 minutes to download

Mine did that for a bit also; but has slowly moved to 22 minutes. Just be patient, unlike me. )

Started downloading it just now, spent the past hour constantly refreshing the update tab until I checked back here and discovered that I could've just searched for it the entire time *facepalm* so far, it says I have 2 and a half hours to go. Hopefully it'll pick up speed in the process, but we'll see!!
