Got my black one today. Loving it. The contrast of white puck and black nightstand look really nice.
It is surprising soft velvet like surface with significantly harder stress reliever like feeling when push in. Not a very hard plastic feeling at all. Very very high end feeling.
It will be interesting what kind of surface material and degree of softness when push in, other 3rd party imitator use with half selling price.

Got my black one today. Love the feel of the material and it won't fall over when the watch is attached. Feeling great about my purchase!

Can someone please test out the hold on the magnet when pressing on the digital crown and the other button? When watchOS 2 comes out those will be the SNOOZE and OFF buttons and to me the Night Stand seems like it needs a ledge below the watch to keep it from slipping off the magnet and dropping onto he nightstand surface when pressing one of those buttons. (Please place a cloth below the watch first!!!)

I am going to wait until I see one of similar material/design but that has a "safety ledge" just below the watch to keep it safe.

The design could definitely use a safety ledge. It would help when placing the watch on and when pressing the buttons.

Here's my suggestion...use your index finger to click whichever button but use your thumb under the watch for support. Like a pinching motion

If Apple would just make the snooze button a screen tap, your concerns would be solved.

It already does. I'm assuming you will be able to turn nightstand mode on and off so you can just use it as it is now

Update: I just got mine today. Bought the bright red and it's really lovely.

The issue with the nightstand function that is coming to watchOS2 is that when you push down on the crown or friends button when on the stand, the watch falls off unless you pinch the watch from underneath. Oh well...

I'm way to groggy and clumsy when my alarm goes off for me to do such fine coordination of finger and thumb.

It's the same thing you do now to press the buttons when it's on your wrist. If you're coordinated enough to use the watch now, you'll do just fine in the fall, LOL.

Got mine today. They clearly did not test the design on a watch with a link bracelet.

With the bracelet sized for a large wrist, the clasp end of the bracelet does not rest on the back of the nightstand, and you can’t make the bracelet smaller on the fly like you can with a rubber strap.

Also, due to the added weight of bracelet, the magnet can barely support the watch. One touch of the watch and crashing to the table it goes.

They really needed to do this...

Good to know, though I'm sorry you've had to find out the hard way for the rest of us.

I'd been wondering whether I should be kicking myself for not having bought one of these. Evidently not!

Thanks for sharing.

Now that I've requested a return, I was informed by Elevation that the product page mentions that the stand is not made for the link bracelet. It does indeed say that NOW. I do not recall it saying that when I ordered a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, I do wish it had a little lip at the bottom too, but so far mine has been working fairly well... And I also have a link band. I have to latch the band every night, but apparently my wrist is small enough that the back of the band is still supported and the watch stays on the charger without a problem.

I still can't comment as mine still hasn't arrived. I know AusPost can be slow but this is getting a bit annoying. I've got the Millanese Loop so don't anticipate any problems.

I have to mention, as bad as this Nightstand is not for link band, it is obsolutely awesome for other lighter band, open or close does not matter at all, specially for super light BCB. It has never come off the magnet, and looks great, specially with black color Nightstand. At night, AW feel like floating on the table with black Nightstand.

I do wish Apple would consider adding proximity sensor in next gen, which will be able to use in night stand mode, magnified sensor sensitivity only when charging, so we could wave to turn on display without actually touching watch at night when charging.

Honestly, I'd rather see the display be always on in nightstand mode. Preferably with the ability to dial down the brightness quite a bit too. If this is to replace my alarm clock (and the potential is definitely there) I want to be able to just glance up at it and see the time without having to move at all.

Yup! that's exactly what I had in mind... I don't think it detracts from the unit at all.

The problem with OLED since each LED has it's own lightsource. Always on will potentially degrade faster for some LED used to light all night long, vs other not used to light all night long, and OLED will have decrease brightness after extensive used. It could takes years to decrease bightness, but personally I would prefer to be safe than sorry, when leave it on all night long to accelerate OLED degrade.

If you don't believe, Google "OLED always on lifespan" for several article about it.
