Got mine today. They clearly did not test the design on a watch with a link bracelet. It's go

With the bracelet sized for a large wrist, the clasp end of the bracelet does not rest on the back of the nightstand, and you can’t make the bracelet smaller on the fly like you can with a rubber strap.

Also, due to the added weight of bracelet, the magnet can barely support the watch. One touch of the watch and crashing to the table it goes.

They really needed to do this...

Problem with this design with bottom lip, is 42mm and 38mm has different height and width, and magnet on the back will wants to align it dead in center with magnetic force, which mean it is going to be tough to design stand like this with bottom lip and fit both 38mm & 42mm perfectly. If it is designed perfectly for 42mm, it will likely rock or has less magnet attached on the back for 38mm, or vice versa.
In additional if Apple come up with new shape/size, this stand might not work.

Current EL-NS work with both 38/42, all the band open or close, and link band with small wrist. Unfortunately anyone like link band with large wrist will likely be minority compared with stand design perfect for 42, but not so perfect for 38, or vice versa.

Good point. All they need is a 38mm model and a 42mm model. Problem solved!

Well, there is problem for that also, at least at the beginning.
Hard tooling for plastic cost $$. Have only one tooling save cost.
It is always possible if EL make a lot of money from NL, they will consider 2 tooling, but it is unlikely will happen for now.

Mine arrived. Certainly smaller than I first expected but it's nice. I have noticed that the watch rotates on the charger a little bit, so doesn't always sit horizontal.

Anyone know how well these eBay / elevation ones work with SS? Specifically with a link band? I can imagine the extra weight might make then prove to falling

Wow really? It's literally discussed at the top of this very page.

Why an earth there isn't white color? I think that would be the perfect color because the charger is white. Does anyone know do they ship these to europe?

And not white color.. :( Fortunately ElevationLab is going to make white model.. I asked them and got this reply:

"Yes, we ARE making white. Our NightStands will be available at Apple retail stores and the Apple website in the next 30 days! They will also be available on our website."

Last september I bought an ElevationLabs Night Stand and sold it with my previous Apple watch. As I have a new watch now I consider buying a new stand again.

A few months later there are a few more night stand shaped models out there and I probably this time I will go for the Spigen 350. I prefer the Spigen for three reasons:

1) watch support
With the ElevationLabs, the Apple Watch was hard to keep in position and only the magnet held the watch. After a few weeks the material became looser and the magnet sometimes fell off. With support under the watch you can actually use the buttons on the watch. Also think of use with a steel bracelet.

2) cable handling
Did you notice that the charger cable is almost in a 90 degree angle. (not good) In the Spine's the cable either goes to the left or the right without bending the cable (good)

3) price
Sure the ElevationLabs has a sexier packaging and is sold in the Apple Store. The Spigen is cheaper but does not have the serious design flaws.

I really wonder why Apple choose the ElevationLabs as their approved stand. The support for the watch is essential and I could only think of one reason, the Spigen 350 not having enough space to mount the Apple Watch 2 :)

EDIT: got a Spigen 350 yesterday and it is so much better than the ElevationLab's. Support an better cable handling are a clear winner here ....and it is sooooo tiny ;)

I've been very happy with my Spigen 350 so far - mainly use it when travelling for work. The NanoPads on the base are particularly good at preventing the stand from sliding around but don't attract dust.

Went to the Apple Store yesterday with the intent of buying their magnetic charging stand, saw the NightStand and went for that instead. Took it home, put the watch on, realised it was at a bit of a wonky angle and was never going to stay put, so came on here and have ordered and Orzly instead. Back to Apple with the NightStand today for a refund.

Should have read this thread first...

Orzly should be here today, but I also picked up an official Apple one yesterday. Its much smaller than i thought it would be, works really well and i think the Orzly will have to go some to be better than it, even at the much cheaper price.

What is the diameter of the Apple one?
