All,

I have a fully unlocked iPhone XS that I'm trying to use to test out some eSIM scenarios for work. I'm running 12.1 beta 3, can see the option to scan QR and/or to manually activate, but have yet to get my teams at VZW, ATT, and/or TMO to be able to provide an activation code or QR code.

Has anyone had success working with VZW, ATT, and/or TMO in activating eSIM technolgy?

The answer of, Apple said they will release it in the future isn't needed here. I get it... That being said, i highly doubt that its simply not being tested with these carriers leading up to launch. I need to test it ASAP!

Carriers will be testing it internally, I can't see them letting the general public test it when it's only available on beta software.

It’s definitely not ready!!
I called T-Mobile today and gave them my digital Sim number to try and get the eSim active. They put in all the right info.... however the process disabled my physical Sim and I lost service. They were unable to restore it until I went to the store to buy a new Sim card. The 3rd rep I spoke to on the phone told me they can put in all the information but it’s just not enabled on their end yet. Little while longer....

Their prepaid site for account info has been down all day, when I called T Mobile they said the server was being upgraded. Maybe for eSim?

The postpaid server is working, but no sign of esim. They are annoyingly slow with this.

I have ATT on SIM, can I add t-mobile as the e-SIM. This would be a great way to see which carriers have the best service in my area.

It’s interesting that AT&T is ahead of the game in this. I contacted T-Mobile yesterday over the chat. It was the same default response.

I had earlier checked with the executive support team at John L’s office too and none of them seems to be committing on a date.

There is rumors that IOS 12.1 will be released on Tuesday and providers in US will also announce eSim availability. Will have to wait and watch.

I activated my AT&T esim today. It wasn’t easy though. We had to call a dozen stores and go to 3 before an employee had the cards and was willing to try it. Now I have esim on AT&T and physical sim on Verizon.
