Whoa!!!!

Yeah looks like Tmobile and Verizon both are stuck in the world of horrible planning/testing. I am a laid back person but this is the first time I am extremely angry. I purchased this phone for this very reason, and all the info up to this point was it going live after IOS 12.1. Now the providers are back pedaling with no sense of urgency. Infuriating.

I was able to get ATT to activate an e-Sim for me.

Where I've failed to think ahead is that you can only use one eSim at a time. My personal (main) line is on ATT and now is an eSIM. So I can use that with a physical T-Mo or VZW card for now, but when they get their eSIM activation stuff figured out, I'll switch my personal ATT (main) line back to a physical sim and use TMO and VZW as eSIM profiles and swap on and off.

Wait ATT doesn't work either? I am so confused!!!

Corey: I want to add ATT as a second line via ESIM
Steve: I'm happy to help!

Steve: at this time we have not yet received the eSim service from Apple, we are waiting on it to be released for you to be able to get it, it will be released and able to get around November the 12th

Corey: Im confused. I know many people that are using it already with ATT?
Corey: Thats why I came here
Steve: Let me check that information for you

Corey: Verizon and Tmobile hit delays, ATT was the only one that was already working. Confirmed by users
Corey: ok
Steve: Just give me a minute to confirm that

Steve: I totally understand your confusion, however I was checking for you and it seems Apple will be releasing this eSim service around November the 12th to November the 25th, right now some of the new devices that have accepted the latest IOS update can expect to be the first in using it, however no one has it on their phones as of now, unless they are upper management from Apple, my recommendation will be for you to check with your friends since based on Apple's site information, no one has it. please double check so you can get all the accurate information, however as part of ATT I can confirm, we do not yet have it for online selling.

Whoa!!!!

This from TMobile.

Hey there! Great question and thanks so much for reaching out to us here today especially when it comes to that eSIM ability that the iOS 12.1 update launched today. Very awesome that's closer to become a reality to use and enjoy however at the moment it's not available to work in our system quite yet, but we're hoping to have it launch as soon as possible and possibly later this year.

When it does there'll be a T-Mobile eSIM Activation app available in the App Store for easier activation on prepaid plans which will be nice.

That's good to hear! I don't mind waiting a little bit as long as they get it right. Thanks for sharing

Confirmation.... super annoying

Just had a chart with AT&T, I got the same corporate answer: ",,,,, eSIM support has encountered a issue with poor visual VM and other functions. AT&T has been working with Apple to have the software update before the end of the year to fully support eSIM. ......" However, the rep continued as "...... eSIM can only be activated in store with QR sim card. It is available now at the store. But it is AT&T's recommendation that you should wait until later of this year to go to store and activate to avoid any issue of poor performance with certain functions...."

There are no issues that I’ve seen. Totally recommend. Running AT&T Esim and Verizon physical sim. Works great.

I moved my physical SIM to eSIM on Monday before they stopped the moves. The issue appears to be Visual Voicemail which I don't have any issues with. If I did it would still be ok, I rarely get voicemails and when I do I could do without them if that is what happens. Like I said I have not seen any issues yet.

Just messaged T-Mobile Customer Support and they weren't aware of any eSIM activations today for voice lines.. also the Reddit thread was deleted when I tried going on it

I guess they have some employee beta program going. The person who posted in Reddit was a tmo store employee. I also went on TMO chat and they had the same standard reply. I referred to some getting this activated today and the response was that it could be a beta program and they don’t have any info to share.

Just had a very surprising on line chart with AT&T support staff. I was prepared answer on eSIM would be the same corp BS, out of my surprise, he asked me which BETA software version that I am running. After I told him that I am on 12.1.1 Beta2, he said eSIM is available to be activated on my device. Then asked my zip code, and checked nearest AT&T store in my area who has the eSIM QR code card (the blue one), and even made an appointment for me at store to activate my eSIM. Also told me that he had updated notes on my account to ensure the proper service from the store. This is almost "to good to be true" based on all the customer service experiences that I had with any cell phone companies in the past........ I guess that I will find out tomorrow if all became true.

Wonder how it went. My guess is support and the store will not agree on the answer.
