Nice article in today’s Telegraph about coffee. Here’s a snip.

Was that the article titled "spilling beans" or something along those lines? I read such an article yesterday morning. Not sure if it's the same one.

Your comments on Intelligentsia are interesting; the keep sending me enticing emails s I haven't bought from them in two years.

Now, I did love some - but, by no means most, let alone all - of their coffee: Their "Los Inmortales" was outstanding, and they had one or to others that I loved, too.
Don't believe I've tried that one. It's a South American blend. I tried several with my own money and ordered various lots of them for work. Very underwhelming. The Black Cat espresso beans were alright if not a bit too dark for my tastes.

Two things I want to share before bed. Cold brew espresso is delicious. Cold brew Turkish is even more delicious. We had a sweltering day yesterday, Sunday, and I decided to use some beans which tasted a bit stale. Cold brew isn't that fussy like traditional brewing.

Wonderful stuff.

Chamomile tea after dinner. Then a nice pressing of coffee or a cappuccino with cinnamon. Who knows, I may treat myself to both.

@mobilehaathi Have you ever purchased your green coffee from CoffeeBeanDirect?

Sorry, I missed this last week. I've only ever bought my green beans from Sweet Maria's. I've had a consistently good experience (and they're also close to home), so I've not had much reason to try other places.

I personally love them in dessert. The sour-sweet profile is delicious. It's hard to choose between sour plum cobbler or crumble or sour plum tart. This year's golden plums are fantastic, too.

Oh, golden plums, yum.

Agree on the sweet-sour taste profile - I love it.

Try roasting them sometime - a little brown sugar, and er, butter..........quite sublime.

Pressed coffee. Blue cheese, dates and German rye. And perusing some of the posts in the prsi forum. Each day I'm more for a eugenics program.

Yum.

Sounds divine. I love blue cheese (which one are you tucking into?) and German rye (yum), dates - gorgeous - and, but, of course, French press coffee.......

Oh, dear.

One doesn't know whether to suppress a snort of guilty laughter (and assert one's liberal credentials) or reprove you for even entertaining such er.......thoughts.
