Campari sparkling water at the moment as the coffee brews on the smallest SS moka we've got. Have the coffee, do some light email correspondence, have some tea with a splash of lemon, catch up on some Zzzs and then the day awaits.

There used to be a time when coffee managed to keep me awake.

Not anymore? Not even after two or three espressos?

Might the inability of coffee to awaken you also be laid at the feet of winter, a time of year, when, I must confess, sleep overcomes me regularly as well.

Not at all. I can have a double espresso hours after dinner and I'll fall asleep like a rock regardless of season. During the height of my coffee consumption, anywhere from 7-12 mugs a day would be consumed and I'd sleep like a baby.

Wine on the other hand will make me sleepy about a half hour after consumption.

Currently having a large mug of Kenyan AA with a heaping teaspoon of organic honey. Also doing some light research.

Can't say I enjoy those Biscoff biscuits. I find them awfully sweet.

Having a couple of cups of Dave's Coffee "Fireside" seasonal coffee. A really tasty blend of high altitude beans from Guatemala, Sumatra, and Tanzania. I am going to miss this one when it gets replaced with a new seasonal!

Smoked coffee beans crossed my mind recently. Is there anything like that on the market? I suspect if there is it'd be marketed as a novelty or destined to be coated in chocolate.

A quick look at Google turned up a number of smoked coffee beans. Not something that I think I would find appealing, though. I tried a smoked tea (Lapsang Souchong) some years ago and found it to be flat out unpalatable. Never did find a use for it. I'll save my smokiness for meats and cheeses!

This morning we are enjoying a pot of King's Coast "King Gothalian's EZ Morning Blend". It uses beans from Sumatra and Costa Rica. A very smooth cup of coffee!
