Thanks for the honesty. I'll amend my jealousy to you having a good place to order one. Whenever I have an espresso out, I don't really like it.
As it happens, I am currently (for professional purposes) based in, working in, - I've been here over a week already - and expect to be in situ for around another month, - one of those European countries with a serious coffee culture, a place that could be classed as espresso heaven.

You mean like Sydney or Melbourne?

No.

Actually, I mean the corner of south eastern Europe, an area (amazingly beautiful and astonishingly historic), known as the Balkans, once ruled by the Ottoman Empire (which brought coffee to the region), some of which was subsequently given to, granted to - and then, also next annexed by - the Habsburg Austro-Hungarian Empire (which is where coffee was first introduced to Europe in the 17th century, and where you will still find an incredible coffee culture) and from where coffee proceeded to spread to the rest of Europe.

And many of these people's descendants migrated to Australia after WWI and set up shop in Sydney and Melbourne.

As well, we have good access to some of the best coffee grown in the world (Arabica and Robusta) in nearby PNG.

And, thank you for letting me yank your chain, ever so gently...

BTW, Melbourne thinks it has the best coffee in the world (and admittedly, that's where the bulk of the high quality roasters are), but we in Sydney know we have the best baristas.

Ristretto’s on the menu this morning using Vivace Dolce, a mild-Arabica coffee roasted in the northern Italian tradition. One of my daughters lives less than a mile from Espresso Vivace’s café and stops by and picks some up for me when she visits. It is still one of my favorite espresso blends.

Enjoyed several seriously good espressos today.

Nice!

I was disappointed in my espresso this morning. It must be the weather, but the pull was way too short and coffee lacked the full flavor I'm used to. I hope to have better luck later this morning.

This morning I decided to finish up the supply of my back-up emergency coffee. It wasn't an emergency, I just don't want the supply to get to be too old, so it's time for a replacement

I'm on my 1st Double-Espresso, awesome 😋
It usually stay with that, as it are consumed pretty late in the day for this night-animal.
But never say never, espresso's can occur in odd places, and in odd times.

Yesterday was too much caffein too late in the day and I paid for it with a night of bad sleep!

I'd had my usual morning double mug of coffee, then while out walking in the afternoon I stopped at a local coffee shop and had an espresso made with some Ethiopian Wush Wush beans that the shop owner roasts to his own preference. It was delicious, delightfully sweet with definite notes of strawberry. The roast isn't as dark as the stereotype of espresso roast and I've been wondering how it would work for a pour-over coffee....so I bought some of the beans and later in the afternoon.....too late in the afternoon as it turned out I guess....I made another double mug.

And then a couple of teenagers stopped by for an unexpected visit and that required yet another round of coffee.

I was definitely overloaded with caffein when bed time finally rolled around

Is there an Oxford comma missing, or did you enjoy the meetings?
That is open to interpretation (and yes, I did debate with myself about whether and where such a comma might put in an appearance).

To be more precise: The espressos (which were offered at every meeting, and were accepted by me at all of them) were divine, appreciated and enjoyed.

And the meetings: Well, the meetings were productive.

I feel if someone is going to the effort of providing *good* coffee then the rest of the event will go well.

I've been in so many meetings where they provide large flasks that have "coffee" written on an attached sticker. Those meetings tend not to be the best :)

I'm currently in the Balkans for professional reasons, and this is a serious coffee culture; every meeting (for example, with city mayors, the chief of police, the head of the municipal electoral administration, let alone the media, civil society, NGOs, the military, political parties) - each and every meeting - all start with an offer - a genuine offer - of coffee. And the coffee is invariably excellent.
